The majority of christians believe in the theory of evolution.

Im not sure that applies in the USA (the country we're looking at per the thread topic). Evolution skepticism is a mainstream feature of Christianity here.

It's roughly 50-50 in the USA (sad, I know). Creationism has been fading slowly in the US, but then so has Christianity.
