Good grief! At least it's more of a secular business notion, that did not originate because some church leaders or a congregation said that what they need to perk up attendance is to put together a McChurch. I hope they fail to find any church to partner with for this atrocious exercise in commercialism. With that said, nothing would surprise me in regards to modern western culture if they do get some church to bite on this. As for a decline in church attendance across the land, I would have to say that it's the result of an ongoing cultural and spiritual battle, and not the result of most churches not running a commercial fast food business within their buildings. ;)

That this idea is even conceivable says a lot about the way things are in American Christianity.

We brought this on ourselves when we relaxed our attire. Soon, preachers were drinking water from the pulpit, which we excused b/c their throats might be dry, then it was coffee.

Now, we have coffee huts popping up in megachurches across the country. McDs......what's the difference.

It's all abomination IMO.

But so goes the way of the beast. :sorry:

Hi G&P,

Well, let's remember that the Jewish temple of Israel had people buying and selling just like any other commercial enterprise.

God bless you.
In Christ, Ted

So you gotta figure we'd know better, ESPECIALLY as protestants who's reformation included the banning of such abominations.

IDK about you brother, but as a child I was taught such things were bad throughout the week, and when it came to day of worship, it was unheard of.

Not saying one sin is greater than another, but WE, as Christians, to receive atonement, need to be able to recognize our sin and bring it to the cross.

WE, as Christians, especially considering our Lord has taught us Himself, can not call evil good.

And brother Ted, I have read hundreds of your posts, and the Holy Spirit is highly visible in you, and I know you are not saying it is good, but rather, to me, saying "what do we expect.....this is nothing new".

Hi AHS,

Exactly! I'm still trying to get my tongue out of my cheek.

God bless you.

So really spiritual preachers don't have a cup of water?

I am confused how a cup of water progressed to that... or a cup of coffee.

Pretty soon we'll be having preacher shooting heroin midservice with a big mac in one hand, and a starbucks coffee in the other.
