A First Time Grandma’s Prayer

Lord,

Thank you for my baby grandson, I love him so much, from the top of his head to his wiggly little toes.

Help me not to be too critical of the new child rearing methods, although I do have to say that three in a bed appears a little over-crowded! Demand feeding has a place, but 24/7 seems excessive!

Please assist me in being less [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse]-a-hoop when my pearls of wisdom are accessed, especially after the latest technique has miserably failed to bring up his wind!

I admit to enjoying retail therapy, the baby clothes are much cuter than when my children were infants. However, the piece of plastic in my purse is showing considerable signs of wear!

I want to be there for him as he grows, a grandmotherly refuge when fleeing from his parent’s opprobrium!

Please support me as his mentor so I can offer him wise counsel, an understanding heart and loving friendship. AMEN.
