I am a Christian Who Has Virtually Lost All Faith (I Want to Regain it Badly)

How did this come about? Did anyone else hear Him? Could you talk with Him again at any time or a specific time? The fact that God has not done this for me has been a major set-back, and perhaps for others as well. This is especially true since He talked so often in the Old Testament that I am...

I am a Christian Who Has Virtually Lost All Faith (I Want to Regain it Badly)

So, for one who is trying to regain faith, what would you say about the Old Testament passages in which God's mind was seemingly changed by talking with Moses, or when God directly hardened Pharaoh's heart and thus caused plagues in Egypt? What is there to counteract these things for someone...

I am a Christian Who Has Virtually Lost All Faith (I Want to Regain it Badly)

Such is seemingly the case with the many denominations of Christianity as well as things like equal rights for African-Americans and not enslaving them. Does that count?

I am a Christian Who Has Virtually Lost All Faith (I Want to Regain it Badly)

A random thought here...many of the Bible's statements are about morality, which is a concept that changes with time and with culture. Morality does not seem to be an absolute thing in this regard. If the Bible had a bunch of stuff that explicitly stated scientific fact (say, a whole other...

I am a Christian Who Has Virtually Lost All Faith (I Want to Regain it Badly)

Just something quick off of the top of my mind, most of the younger members of my family are non-religious despite being told either explicitly or implicitly that Christianity is a normal thing to be desired. The one that seems most interested in Christianity is only 10 years old and seems to...

    Hello everybody new to Christianit

Hi D-S-P, I was raised Christian, and was always pretty adamant about it. I would now consider myself an atheist, just like your friend. I'm glad that you know that atheists are not heartless monsters! I am interested in what you guys came up with on your rides, since that sounds like an...

    Good to be here

Fourty years is a long time to be a Christian. I was raised a Christian and was one myself, but have since drifted. Have you ever had challenges or been challenged in relation to your religion? If so, how did you deal with them? Have a great day, Unno-dey

    Those who never heard?

I only just read this, so I just found out that you have thought about this as well. Again, these are great questions. The fact that there are so few answers is frustrating, to say the least.

    Those who never heard?

Wow, are you me? I have thought the same thing! If I were God, I would give Bibles in all languages to everyone. Also, I would send the Bible like the Bible says God sent the Ten Commandments: on stone tablets, directly from God. I would not let people canonize the Bible either: I would make...

    Salutations!

Hi! I have found this website to be pretty good so far, but I have not been here too long, so I don't have too much experience. Have a great day, Unno-dey

    Intro of me:

Hi ChristianMinecrafter. I used to play Minecraft and Pokemon too, they're pretty fun. The modding community for Minecraft is insane, too! I never had games like that when I was your age. Also, I replied to Crash001 because I do not feel that games can hurt people. My mom prevented me from...

    New girl on the block

Hi xoSawah, I found your post to be similar to my own story. I was raised a Christian too and believed whole-heartedly for 18 years. I too have never felt close to God. I was confused by how He says He is like a father to us, but does not talk to us like fathers (or parents) do. I am not close...

    Atheist Seeking Help

Nice name, first of all! Well, I am an atheist, and have lost my faith for two years, like you. So, while I cannot say I will pray, I can offer some very subjective advice. I do not want anyone to suffer just because of their beliefs. I do not want to strip non-harmful ideas from people who need...

Verse of the Week - Romans 8:28

I would be fine with starting a new thread instead of hijacking this one. How do I go about starting a new thread? You could send me a PM about it if you want to keep down the clutter on this thread.

Verse of the Week - Romans 8:28

Well, He needs to earn it, just like I need to prove myself trustworthy to my dogs and cat, and my parents and friends needed to prove themselves trustworthy to me. God is no different, and does not deserve different standards than the usual ones that work for regular reality and regular beings.

Verse of the Week - Romans 8:28

Why would God not just give us the Bible in an unchangable form and in all languages? Why would God's word be at all hard to understand? If I or anyone can be more coherent than Gods' word at any time, then His word is not perfect. Why does God claim to not be the author of confusion, yet make...

Verse of the Week - Romans 8:28

I I am always confused about how the Bible, which is said to be perfect, can ever be hard to understand. Another bit of confusion I have is the method of communication. Why doesn't God, who loves us more than any human can, just talk to us like humans do? God did before, through dreams, direct...

How does one come to believe something?

Peopl People find abstract qualities in many things, including pets and hundreds of different religions and family. These ideas mean nothing objective. Also, in Bible times (and in modern times) God supposedly revealed Himself in multiple objectively measurable ways.

Comment by 'unno-Dey' in media 'Jesus In Cross'

@Catherineanne I suppose you are talking about God or perhaps moral characteristics and not actually Jesus, then. I understand that the idea of the trinity exists, but Jesus was a physical man, right? He was born of a Middle Eastern woman, and presumably looked like any other person of that...

Comment by 'unno-Dey' in media 'Jesus In Cross'

@Catherineanne I agree that there is no difference between painting him as a different race, but it is still fundamentally inaccurate to depict him in this way. Is this not allowing ignorance and further separating Jesus from his historical/geographical context? Besides, we do not know what he...
