Anyone here use the Angelicum Academy homeschool curriculum?

Ahhh...I used to have an account that I created a few years ago to see what all of the hoopla was about. I think I logged in once...then a few months ago, I got an email that an ex-girlfriend wanted to connect, or be friends, or whatever it is called...so I deleted the account (after telling my...

Anyone here use the Angelicum Academy homeschool curriculum?

Fortunately for us, the cost is not really an issue. The homeschooling fees are minuscule, as compared to the ~$10,000/student/year (:o) that we were considering paying for one of the Dominican schools here. Actually, a highly rigorous program is very attractive to us. The two that are school...

Anyone here use the Angelicum Academy homeschool curriculum?

We're considering it, but being new to the homeschooling scene, we just don't know what we don't know. There's a comfort factor in having something completely planned out for you, particularly in the first year.

    Midnight Mass and Toddlers

Thanks!!! She's a little girl, Mary Elizabeth. Here's a picture of her with her older sister. I think Midnight Mass may just be my favorite Mass of the year. We have Carol's sung from 11:30 - midnight. Once the bells start gonging, the cantor chants the Proclamation of the Birth of...

    Midnight Mass and Toddlers

We've always gone to midnight Mass, and will this year too...with our 8 year old, 6 year old, 2 year old and 5 month old. :D It's certainly not easy, but create great, great memories. We keep the two oldest up, but let the two youngest take naps...they'll sleep through it anyway.

    Obama Won!!!!

Bingo...this is where our Bishops will need to speak up with a strong, clear voice to instruct their sheep.

    Obama Won!!!!

As much as I'm tempted to move the family to Ireland and become a potato farmer, now's not the time to run from the looming expansion of this genocide. We need to stay and fight for what is right...if all the good people leave, who will be left to fight the good fight? This is certainly...

Is a Breakthrough with Society of St. Pius X Near?

The TLM was never the issue with the SSPX. The main issue is religious liberty, and how they interpret the docs of Vatican II. All of the liturgical craziness over the past 30 years is just a symptom of what they say the real problem is (modernism). I do hope this is resolved. I'm a little...

The Lord of the World, and election day...

You can buy it here: http://www.baroniuspress.com/book.php?wid=56&bid=29 It's also public domain, so you should be able to find a pdf of the book online, if you don't want to buy it. As an aside, that review by Fr. Rutler is several years old...probably before Obama was even a Senator. Freaky...

The Lord of the World, and election day...

For those of you not familiar with it, The Lord of the World is a book writeen by Robert Hugh Benson in 1907, in which he outlined a Catholic worldview of the end of the world. Read this review by Fr. George Rutler...it should give us all reason to pause and think...

Modernism and what does the Catholic Dogma teach about Modernism

This may just be semantics, but the people that you're referring to aren't concerned about modernity, but rather modernism. It's a very specific heresy, and not at all related to the idea of technological progress. I'm very keen on the idea of modernity...I'd hate to have to use an outhouse...

Modernism and what does the Catholic Dogma teach about Modernism

To deeply understand Modernism, reading St. Pius X's encyclical Pacendi Dominici Gregis (On the Doctrine of the Modernists) is pretty important. It's a very dense encyclical, so take lots of time to read it. I took several weeks to get through it, and even then I had to re-read it two or three...

    Help.

Do yourself a favor, and stop reading/watching this stuff. There are so many issues and dynamics that has landed the Church in the position that it is in today. In my humble opinion, the SSPX has taken an overly simplistic view of the problems. You are on a downward spiral to insanity, with...
