wonderful post. YOur marriage before God is your vow alone. A license is legalities, a contract to let the state know this is your spouse and they are the ones who get your stuff when you die. :)

I have read that a couple southern states have old laws on the books that do state that a man and woman ''cohabitating as man and wife'' must have a license or face jail time and fines. But one thing that is pointed out many times on the sites I frequent is if the topic comes up in most states...

really? just so you know, my betrothed wife (since we have not consumated) has a terrible fear of sex and it will most likely be years before we consumate our union. I have known about this fear from the start, I accept it and love her and would become a eunuch if I had to for her to be with...

I guess I can assume that some must have a license poking them in the ribs to make sure they do what they are supposed to in their marriages, since they seem so adamant that a man wont do his duty without one. ;)

my question is why does God have to be slow about it.....those who are the elect CANNOT perish supposedly, so why on earth would He have to be longsuffereing if they cannot be lost. Unless of course by ''all'' there, it means just that.....ALL

i believe we can pull out just as many that show He DID die for the world as a whole. and yeah, I know the twist that is put on these, so dont waste the time doing it again.

Guess what, I see Him saying He gives His life for His sheep. I dont see a single word that limits His propitiation to just them tho. ''for the sheep and NOT for any other'' would be nice to see
