On the news now they are saying he did in fact target the Planned Parenthood clinic. They haven't given a motive yet, but he went specifically to the clinic, he didn't duck in there later as was previously suggested

Not really, it's important not to jump the gun, but I think it's reasonable to believe the suspect is known, his name, age, etc. It's reasonable to believe he is the man pictured in police photos. Now that the details and police radio transcripts are out, it's reasonable to believe that he choose to enter the Planned Parenthood to carry out his killing and wounding of people at the clinic and officers who came to help.
We don't yet know why he went to a Planned Parenthood clinic and opened fire, but since he was captured alive, I'm sure we will soon. We'll also likely learn more about who he is, what his views and values are

I think the media is scrambling to beat the network competition to new story updates. When this was all fresh last night I heard he'd targeted a bank near PP. And when seen by the police had fled to PP to hide out.

I think the media is focusing on the Planned Parenthood barricade because that's where the standoff and shootings occurred. Maybe the press was thinking it was a bank robbery because there is a bank across the street from Planned Parenthood.
The shooter is 59 years of age and has been identified as Robert Lewis Dear.
