I am a devout Christian and I've always loved God since I could remember. I am saving sex for marriage. I don't drink or do drugs. After all of this though I LOVE rap. And I don't mean Christian rap. I mean rap like Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa, Rick Ross, or Big Sean. Anyone else like this?

No, I do not listen to their music at all. what are the lyrics in their songs? Do you think want they are singing fits in with Gods will? often what these guys sing about are drugs, immorality. And tend to use bad language.

I always to try avoid listening to these types of artist.
As mentioned above, I love this music. They do rap about those things and they are the only things. I respect you in your choice of music of course. They say that the music you listen to you can relate to and I definitely counter that statement. I am the complete opposite of those rappers.

I Iisten to Epik High mostly. They're a South Korean hiphop rap group. Very very minimal to no cursing. I especially like their leader -Tablo's Dear TV. Try listening to it in youtube. :)

Also I like lil wayne's How To Love
And Drakes' Hold On We're Going Home.

I love rap, one of my fav genres, old school and new school. Prob because I'm just a 'newbie' christian I don't really see the huge issue here, obv I have lots to learn haha. But there are actually some legit good christian rappers out there now a days. I like to listen to Lecrae whos pretty awesome and Shad is pretty good too, both worth a listen.

I listen to everything. While I agree that some of the words they say, aren't exactly the best. I believe it's what you take from it. I don't necessarily listen for the words, although some do teach a good lesson, I really listen for the beat. Lacrae is probably my favorite christian rapper. I especially like rap for when I'm running or working out, but that's just me.

I too love rap but i take it in stride and i disagree with the delivery of somethings they say but also rap has been an outlet for people who are troubled it is their way of calming and centering themselves as much as some of the things they say are vulgar some of it describes their struggles and their journey to where they are now and i celebrate them for finding a healthy avenue for their emotions.

I've started listening more to the rap/hip hop genre both secular and Christian in artist. It pumps me up, makes me feel like I can conquer the world (psh, as if). But I've found that when I'm in a bad mood and I listen to it, it's creates a really great opening for Satan to work his lies into my life. It makes me angrier and then I act out of that, which isn't my personality at all. So I avoid it at all costs when I'm upset.

Hello, this is my first post on this forum :)

I'm a protestant Christian from Sweden. I like rap too, but not that kind of rap (American rap) all their lyrics is about is alcohol, sex, b*tch*s and yes you probably know what I mean.. Just bad stuff that doesn't fit in with our beliefs. I dont like that, but I like rap with good lyrics - lyrics about life, growing up in tough conditions, turning to God whenever you have a problem, and that kind of stuff.

Since I don't drink alcohol or do drugs it would be weird for me to listen to that kind of rap that artists like Lil Wayne and 50 Cent are doing..

I've listened to rap forever it's my favorite genre, but not so much the newer stuff. I don't think there's anything wrong with it if you can recognize the differences. If people are tempted and can't control those temptations than avoidance is likely best. I for one have never had a rap song make me want to do drugs, kill, or have sex. It's the opposite usually I think the music you want to hear is reflective of how you already feel or have felt or maybe just entertainment. And in those ways it can be healing
