70 f, that sounds nice and cool... we could sure use the rain, since our land is parched and cracked. We had 1 mm last month, and I don't think any this month. Rain would certainly make it humid, but we sure need it! It was actually a bearable day today with a little breeze and cloud cover. Next weekend is supposed to be really really hot.

I have a disability that is very visible and obvious and terribly ugly. I always wear long pants or jeans to try to cover it up as much as I can, so this hot summer is really unbearable for me...no cute sundresses or capris for me! But I do thank God that I am able to use my legs...

Yes, I have definitely noticed that in hotter weather I felt more irritable and temper more easily got the better of me. I believe statistics show this is the case for populations in general.

Praying for you to stay cool even when it's hot.

*Sounds like a great idea!

Unfortunately we live in a strata, so we
can't do that here without everyone's
approval...which won't be happening anytime soon since we are coming out of
lawsuit, although we won--due to the fact
it took a couple of years to resolve the matter, all of us had to cough up nearly
two grand to pay the increased costs of material/labor for installing new roofs and now we have to pay property
taxes and redo all the landscaping...if it ain't one thing, then it's another...boo!

sorry to hear that

what a bummer :(

I'm in Georgia (US state) and it has been hot and humid. Last couple of weeks it's been in the upper 90s, when even the early mornings were warm and muggy. This week a cold front has moved in so it's more in the mid to upper 80s. But still humid. A/C is a must here.

I would rather be hot than cold. Although both extremes can make me feel a bit cranky. DH and I used to fight over the thermostat. I'm a 70-77 kind of gal. He likes to keep it at 68 in the winter and closer to 80 in summer. Those 2-3 degrees make a huge difference to me. But after 18 years of marriage he has bowed to my demands, lol. It helps that we put in better windows, so the house stays pretty even temperature wise even with extreme changes outside, so our bills stay reasonable.

Bfine in the days before aircon I wondered what people did, well in middle eastern countries they have cooling towers contructed in their buildings.

Otherwise its just fans, or people wearing cool cotton clothing. I lived in singapore for a few months on student exchange, this a country right on the equator. I survived by drinking lots of lime juice, and rather enjoyed the balmy weather. Others found it wilting..they needed cold showers all the time but I think I just got used to it. My bones enjoy the warmth...in cold weather I freeze up.

Find a pool to cool off. Also. Icecream.
