Not true. A couple of Zealots had been accepted as messiah for a time. Jews, after all, did not think the Messiah would be superhuman. Menahem then took control of the temple and had the high priest Ananias put to death. A year later there was John of Gischala: He had tens of thousands of people put to death. Anyone who supported the Romans or desired peace was worthy of death in John’s eyes. The priesthood supported peace with the Romans, so they became his enemies. At one point he seized the temple with the help of the Idumeans and killed the high priest. So fierce was the fighting that 8,500 died on the temple grounds. John then appointed a high priest that was a mockery. John of Gischala continued his murderous rampage until Jerusalem fell in 70 A.D. He was captured by the Romans and lived the rest of his life in prison.

It seems to me that not taking this verse seriously has led a lot of evangelicals to oppose efforts towards global peace.

that is a prayer we pray for gods kingdom to one day come. And his will be done on earth as it is in heaven. ..from what we read in scriptures ..heaven is the place to be and desire... Not until the new heaven comes. Which is1000 years after Jesus comes. ,

But we are not against peace....we are called to love all men as God...love sinners. Treat every soul as if they are God himself....for man is created in the image of god

When they shall say peace and safety then sudden destruction comes upon them..i believe this refers to a false messianic age

Nope, I don't think Jesus was talking about the Last Days when he predicted false Messiahs and persecution.
Sure I believe in the faith, I believe in the Baha'i Faith.

You need to be a bit more precise when you quote scripture. I can't even tell which verse you are referring to.

Why not Jesus?...is not God the father of us all?. God is the father of David. ..God is the father of Jesus. ..

Because then the prophecy is meaningless. If you go by that, then I fall in line just fine. So do you. And anybody else. Once you reduce the prophecy to nothing, there's no point to it.

We are not trying to be misleading ....we want the truth. But the scriptures we have to go by are tainted. as Jesus said it would..if we had the originals...we would be proven right...I know I cannot convince anyone...Only God can do that.....either Jesus is a liar Which I doubt of course being a believer)..or the scriptures have been tampered with...Which would prove Christian doctrines were a real threat to the Judaism way of life....

The account of the genealogy of the line of David should prove Jesus was the son of David....yet the Christians Jews did not even get that right?....so that the son of David could not be proven by it?...I don't bye it...whom is misleading whom..

Why? Why should it prove anything? I could copy and paste from Kings and Chronicles too. I imagine there's a reason Paul told you guys not to get wrapped up in genealogies.

Then Jesus had to fulfill the prophecy of being the son of David...But it can't be proven...because the scriptures are tainted....it's not fair....

When Judaism seems to be the victor and produces the messiah (which Jesus warns to be false)...God will send two witnesses to the Jewish people....they have witness many things since taken to heaven....Israel will listen to them according to the new testament..
