He must have missed the memo.

All joking aside, I was confused when I first saw the "click to accept Jesus" button. I wasn't sure if it was the log-in, or if it would redirect me to one of those pages that look like the bottom of Jack Chick tracts. You know, the:

Plus, it's super Arminian.

Who invented the four stages of salvation and the sinner's prayer anyhow?

Via Crucis, enlighten us.

And yes, of course it is Arminian. Anything else would be unamerican. We like to control our own destinies; we just want a sure thing.

No idea who came up with the Four Spiritual Laws. Though I've heard the Sinner's Prayer often attributed to Billy Sunday.

According to this Wiki article Bill Bright (this article on him agrees) is the author of the Four Spiritual Laws, back in 1952. As far as the Sinner's Prayer goes it would seem that CCC (Campus Crusade for Christ, or now known as Cru) is largely responsible for its widespread use and popularity within American-style Evangelicalism: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sinner's_prayer#Typical_examples

Not exactly a scholarly analysis, but it's what Google has told me in the last few minutes.

Hey, I never stopped accepting Jesus. I'm a Baha'i because I believe more than what Christianity allows, not less. But I'm still not clicking.

I never meant to imply that. There is a hidden message in my post.

Just googled it. Apparently it was Billy Graham who made the Sinner's Prayer popular. The Four Spiritual Laws came from a pamphlet written by Bill Bright, the founder of Campus Crusade for Christ.

I don't see anything wrong with the 4 spiritual laws...:)

Am I missing something ?

If one subscribes to Revivalistic Neo-Evangelical theology then there probably wouldn't be any problem.

As a Lutheran I think it is a very significant problem as it is a complete rejection of the doctrine of Justification by Grace alone through Faith alone.

The Amazing Gap, as Heiko Oberman called it.

I found a way around that button.

Help a brutha out man, I’ve had to accept Jesus like 35 times so far.
He might start thinking I’m being insincere…

I hadn't seen the button in question until I finally logged out just to see if that's why I couldn't see it. There are two login buttons, the "Accept Jesus" button and a blue login button a bit below it.
