1 Peter 1:
13 Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon
the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
14 as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance;
15 but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct,
16 because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.”
Beginning with the posted text, what is the working of obedience in the child of God,
in the relationship with the Lord by the promised Holy Spirit?
What is the difference between the grace that is to be at the Revelation of Jesus Christ,
and the grace that brings salvation by which we first believe?
Considering Peter's closing words:
2 Peter 3:
14 Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him
in peace, without spot and blameless;
15 and consider that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation—as also our beloved brother Paul,
according to the wisdom given to him, has written to you,
16 as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand,
which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures.
17 You therefore, beloved, since you know this beforehand, beware lest you also fall from your own steadfastness,
being led away with the error of the wicked;
18 but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.
Did Peter speak prophetically to this present generation concerning those who twist the teachings of Paul?
