No, the "nothing" is in context to only those sheep that FOLLOW Him. Read the whole chapter.

...
All sheep are His sheep. Even the ones not of this fold that He must go and get, so that their will be one flock and one Shepherd.
Only the sheep are saved. Christ is the great Shepherd of THE sheep. Notice scripture does not say some sheep.
Hebrews 13
20 Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, 21 make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.

Saying it like you teach
'that great Shepherd of some sheep', is just wrong, does not taste right.

Why would i want to do that? If your inChrist hand....arn't you a follower?

Perhaps if the comment in the post made more sense I could comment more.

Not necessarily. It's a free-will choice each of us must make. In other words, IT'S CONDITIONAL! You can either FOLLOW His word and commandments or you are can live like you did in your old life. And those who keep His commandments are the ones who inherit eternal life.

Jesus is simply stating facts.
The sheep follow Christ, how this happens is due to their belonging to Christ, since they are purchased by His blood.

There exists such a thing as the new birth, being born again means being born of God.

How is a person one of His sheep, if he keeps following the devil? It's conditional, one must follow Him!

How is one prepared for good works?

2 Timothy 2
20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.
21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.
22 Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

He must purge himself of wood and earth, which lead to dishonor. Then, and only then is he meet for the Master's use and prepared for every good work.
And not only that, but we are to flee youthful lusts, and FOLLOW righteousness, faith, charity, and peace.

How does one think he is Christ's sheep if he keeps living to the flesh? This leads to destruction and corruption.

You need to also consider 1 Corinthians 3 to understand what Paul is teaching there.

For those who are saved build upon Christ the rock of their salvation, how they build is key to whether or not they receive a reward.
Building with the wood, hay , stubble leads to destruction but not of their salvation.

1 Corinthians 3
5 Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers through whom you believed, as the Lord gave to each one? 6 I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase.
7 So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase.
8 Now he who plants and he who waters are one, and each one will receive his own reward according to his own labor.

9 For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, you are God’s building. 10 According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it. But let each one take heed how he builds on it. 11 For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
12 Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw,
13 each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is.
14 If anyone’s work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward.
15 If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.

Do you not know that to 'follow' is an action? It doesn't come automatically or magically. People don't just follow Christ because they belong to him.
It is a free-will choice each one of us has to make. How does one have a new birth and still follow the devil? That new birth is faulty and absolutely meaningless.
If one says they are born again, but still live to the flesh and the devil, is making a mockery of Jesus. And it does not deceive God, saying you are born again
and living to the flesh.

Galatians 6
7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

Paul says you are deceiving yourself if you think you can sow to the flesh and believe you will reap life everlasting.

This isn't speaking of a man's good works from himself. This is speaking of building on a foundation, and the gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, and straw are the people who are built on this foundation. If anyone's work, that is, people who are built on this foundation through man's planting and watering, turn out to be wood, hay, and straw, the one who waters and plants will suffer loss, BUT HE HIMSELF WILL BE SAVED.

Read it carefully, it has nothing to do with man's personal works, but the condition of those who are built on the foundation.

But you are not in Jesus' hands if you don't follow Him.

So, lets say you "follow Jesus"...truly honestly follow Jesus...then for some reason decide not to...perhaps you were deceived...who knows....are you lost? OF COURSE NOT....because NOTHING cn take you from Jesus hand. NOTHING.

The just shall live by their faith God says. Not by their works or sinlessness or anything else will they live.
Isaiah 53:11
He shall see the labor of His soul, and be satisfied. By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify many, For He shall bear their iniquities.
But just to be clear, this is past sins only that are forgiven and not future sins. If a believer sins after they accepted Christ, they need to confess and forsake such a sin so as to maintain God's mercy (See 1 John 2:1, 1 John 1:9, 1 John 1:7; cf. Proverbs 28:13).

"You did not choose me. I chose you" - Jesus

If you believe that you chose God, it understandable that you would think salvation is lost for lack of conformity to the law; however, the truth is, He chose you. That's the BASIS for your security. Like most arguments here, this one boils down to the same old thing, God's sovereignty in election. . .

You're deceived. You think you can lose your salvation....have to "maintain" it to eventually be saved.
