Lately I have been patrolling the media and since the Supreme Court's ruling on the gay marriage case it seems you can't go anywhere without finding that every major media mogul from Google to NBC is delighted at the outcome and wants to celebrate by posting pictures and videos of gay couples everywhere. Of course this was expected, but lately I have found that it has started opening my eyes to exactly how fallen the world around me is. Mind you, I am only seventeen and I realize my point of view is a very shallow one lacking wisdom and experience, but I cannot help but feel as the only young conservative I have ever met in a state heralded as part of the Bible belt, that I am fighting a losing battle.

One day it won't matter what the Supreme Court says. It will always matter what God says.

It's certainly easy to feel this way but I believe truth is worth fighting for, regardless of whether or not the battle can be won. We know that ultimately God will prevail and we can't sit idly by until that time; instead we must be diligent and continue to do the work He's placed in front of us.

Liberalism is attractive because it's easy and sounds good on paper. A critical and logical mind can break down their talking points pretty easily but many would rather take an easy path than have to think for themselves and actually acknowledge what the Bible has to say about homosexuality, work, salvation, etc. We must continue to be firm but loving in our responses and pray that the Lord will open more eyes and hearts.

The Bible says homosexuals are supposed to be put to death. Do you support that?

Are you speaking about the Law under the Old Covenant? Jesus Christ is the New Covenant. No one put's no one to death. Remember what Jesus said to the woman who was about to be stoned for committing adultery?

Were. In Old Testament Israel. What was your point?

Point is, society has moved past this for one reason or another. Why complain that they have moved farther than you. You have already accepted a modification to the rule in the OT.

Very few societies today endorse capital punishment for homosexuality. My point stands.

Your point being...

How the the Law of Moses's permission of capital punishment for homosexuality even enter the discussion?

To demonstrate that NO ONE does what the Bible says, but that we have ameliorated what we think harsh, so why complain that others have taken that a bit farther than you are willing to?

By citing civil laws given specifically to ancient Israel?

Why? Because you think they shouldn't have. Why else?

No, I am OK with gay marriage.
I brought this up to show that Christians have been bending the rules anyway, so why complain that someone else is doing it too.

You will have to forgive me if this thread doesn't sound as "sophisticated" as I would like but it is by all means a serious question.

I read the Scriptures and I have tried to seek counsel from some of my elders but the most common response I have is that I know that Jesus will win out in the end. While that is true, I would rather think my race is going to have at least some moments of triumph and not just be me trying to do a 5k over a minefield. I feel like the world, specifically the U.S., has finally reached the point of no return, and I know that reality says it will only get worse. I still have a lot of life, God willing, ahead of me, and while I realize it is foolish to believe it will be easy, but if conservatism is a lost cause I would rather not have my hopes up. It petrifies me to think of the world I would bring my future children up in, and the kind of utter nonsense that they would be spoon fed by the fallen culture. I guess what I am really looking for is some encouragement, I truly feel like there is no hope, and I know my trust and future should lie in God alone, but I love my country dearly, and it hurts me very much to see it succumb to the demands of the unrighteous few. Is there anybody who can tell me if conservatism is a lost cause or is it still salvageable, or does it really matter in the grand scheme of things?

Even if the entire world population should fall, you should continue to follow Jesus.

Trusting in and following the Lord is never a lost cause, no matter how the situation may look (Isaiah 41:10). America's time of glory is up, the judgment hand of God is falling upon this nation. You can search on YouTube to hear about upcoming prophecies concerning America that are soon to be filled, Lyn Leahz has a good channel. In 1973, the Holy Spirit spoke through David Wilkerson to warn the Body of Christ in America about what was to come, and many of his prophecies have already come true, & also can be found on YouTube. Jonathan Cahn has been sounding the alarm about the shemitah and how the judgments of God fall in cycles... explanations can be found on YouTube. Gay "marriage" sealed the deal for the USA. God is withdrawing His hand of protection from this nation and the judgments are coming. It doesn't matter how old you are, when the Holy Spirit is at work in your life showing you right from wrong, when you make the Lord God Most High your all and everything, you will see things through His eyes, which you are recognizing with seeing the immorality of this nation. My friend, this country will soon be devastated beyond recognition, but you must hold firm to the Lord and to what He has given you. Seek the Lord in prayer, watch for the signs, and ask Him to show you what you should do. Don't place your hope in any near future in this world but entirely in the Lord Jesus Christ and on your true heavenly home (Psalms 56:11; Joshua 1:9).

In Noah's day - God sorted it out.... the final count..,. was 8.
that is the point right , is there any return from these kinds of sins that are pervasive in those who use the name of the Lord in vain and call themselves "His church" but they only protect the wolves and not
" those that are with young"? they love what God hates and hate what God loves.. I sure hope that more than 8 make it or I don't have a chance . I am not upset that the worldly are militant , nasty , and devouring , we expected that. God makes it clear we should expect it .
What makes me want to throw up is that the church is now as bad or worse and children in the church are not safe in anyway. this sh----- just needs to come to is miserable end now. to many kids are and have been molested in the name of Jesus 'LOVE ' .
If they can't protect the sheep from wolves they need to GET OUT OF HIS BUSINESS!

Bending rules that were applicable to Israel under Mosaic Law? One does not wrap the OT around the neck of a born-again Believer in Jesus, He having fulfilled the Law and the Covenants. He placed in motion Grace through Faith for all of us. Obviously, that does not mean that we can continue in sin. For those who do not believe, that is a sentence worse than death, homosexual or not. For those who believe, be aware that we will stand before the Judgment Seat of Christ, not to be sentenced to eternal separation from God, but to stand and suffer as our lives are revealed. When the final count is in, we'll be saved, "though as by fire." 1 Corinthians 3:13-15.

I think you need to draw a distinction between the Body of Christ and the "church."
