Heh, I'm in Wisconsin, he's in California. Although it used to be he was in Massachusetts and I was in California.

6. How far away do you live from each other? 600 miles. 2 hour plane ride, I believe.
7. How often do you get to see each other, and for how long? About every three months, for a week. Give or take a few days.
8. Do you have your own little rituals when you do get to see each other? Hug and kiss at the airport...that's all really. We aren't apart very much when we're together together, and we try to go out several times since we don't normally get dates.
9. What has been the most difficult thing you've had to deal with as part of a long distance couple?
I'm really lonely. Depressed. Pretty sure the long distance has a lot to do with it.
10. Would you do it over again had you known how it would be? This is gonna sound horrible, but I don't know if I would. I think we'd have been almost better off staying friends until we were able to do something to be together. I'm just really sad all the time. I don't think I'd be depressed if we hadn't started this.

The entire time.

Every day. It's usually AIM these days, but sometimes phone.
6. How far away do you live from each other?
He's stationed 2000 miles away but currently deployed 6000 miles away.
7. How often do you get to see each other, and for how long?
We got to see each other for a few weeks over Christmas, and I'll see him again in September.
8. Do you have your own little rituals when you do get to see each other?
Nothing out of the ordinary.
9. What has been the most difficult thing you've had to deal with as part of a long distance couple?
There have been times when our communication was very limited, which left me feeling pretty alone in the world. It's kind of hard to revert back to that single state of mind where you don't have anyone to share with or feel accountable to.
10. Would you do it over again had you known how it would be?
Definitely. As much as it hurts to be far away from him, he's been a real blessing to me. I can't imagine spending my life with anyone else.

Online. We were both on a message board (that I was an admin on).. so we knew each other from there, but it wasn't until years later that we talked personally.

Hm. I figure it was about 5, maybe 6 years ago he got on the message board.. but it's been about 2 and three quarter years since we first really talked.

3. How long have you been in a relationship?
Going on two years. (It was not quite a year since we started talking when we became a couple.)

4. How long have you been in a long distance relationship?
The entire time.

5. How often do you talk or otherwise communicate with each other? What forms of communication do you use?
Every day. Though we do IM as well as letters now and then, there's only been one day (outside of when we were together) that we haven't talked on the phone (and that was when he had a very sore throat.)

6. How far away do you live from each other?
About 1500 miles, Google maps says.

7. How often do you get to see each other, and for how long?
Not very often. Three times so far. But it's never been for shorter than a week.

8. Do you have your own little rituals when you do get to see each other?
Not really, not that I can think of.

9. What has been the most difficult thing you've had to deal with as part of a long distance couple?
Um. The most difficult things either I or we have faced as a couple had precious little to do with it being long distance.

10. Would you do it over again had you known how it would be?
Yes. but going in, I did know it was going to be this way, at least for a while (think, years.) I knew that and I was ok with it.

Well we've technically known each other awhile since he was always posting in the same sections as me when he joined but its been roughly 2 years since we started talking privately and building a friendship off the site.

pretty much everyday and we use IM

I'm on one side of the continent here in Canada and he's on the other in the States.

every 2-4 months, though next time it'll be closer to 6 months probably. We usually try to visit for at least a week.

hmm... well our new thing seems to be cracking out the House DVDs and watching every single episode we can

10. Would you do it over again had you known how it would be?
Thats a tough question I love him so much and love having him in my life but i really never realised just how hard an LDR could be, especially when its gone on for so long, i might have been tempted (had i known) to hold off until we were living closer to eachother to start dating. but then again being with one guy so long in a relationship that hadn't been defined probably never would have worked out, so i think it really worked out for the best

Pretty nearly every day, I have 20 minute morale calls and we use AIM alot.

It depends on where I am.

We saw each other for about 3 weeks in December, it should be about another 1.5 or so weeks in September, maybe in November, and then 3 weeks in December.
8. Do you have your own little rituals when you do get to see each other?
Not particularly, it's just too wonderful to be together to be bogged down in routines.
9. What has been the most difficult thing you've had to deal with as part of a long distance couple?
Being apart.
10. Would you do it over again had you known how it would be?
Yes.

Thought it was time to answer my own questions

For those of you in a Long Distance Relationship, I'd like to hear your responses to all of these questions:

1. How did you meet? We met at the university I attended for one year
2. How long have you KNOWN each other? Three years, eight months, and three days I think.
3. How long have you been in a relationship? Three years, eight months, and two days I think (at any rate, one day less than when we met.)
4. How long have you been in a long distance relationship? Three years, five months and four days.
5. How often do you talk or otherwise communicate with each other? What forms of communication do you use? Currently we talk to each other about every three days or so due to conflicting schedules. Otherwise we send a message on Facebook. We used to talk every day, for hours.
6. How far away do you live from each other? Approximately 2,100 miles currently, although it has been as much as 3,100 miles.
7. How often do you get to see each other, and for how long? Once a year, twice if we're lucky, for a week.
8. Do you have your own little rituals when you do get to see each other? Most definitely, which is why I wrote this question.
9. What has been the most difficult thing you've had to deal with as part of a long distance couple? Not knowing when we'll get to see each other again, or when we'll be able to get married.
10. Would you do it over again had you known how it would be? I knew we would be long distance for probably about a year, but it's been much longer than that. But yes, I would have done it all the same.

Not really.

Not as much physical presence/contact as we'd like - or as we'd have if we were living close by

pretty much every day, skype, email...call once every twoish weeks. time difference is annoying too.

How often do you get to see each other, and for how long? see each other twice a year at the moment, for about 3weeks - 2 months each visit.

What has been the most difficult thing you've had to deal with as part of a long distance couple? just being so far away and not having any physical contact. no hugs when you've had a crappy day.

3. How long have you been in a relationship? -- first talked about it March 2008, got the tickets to meet May 2008, made it official August 2nd 2008. Any way you look at it, over a year.

4. How long have you been in a long distance relationship? -- the whole time

5. How often do you talk or otherwise communicate with each other? What forms of communication do you use? -- Every day. We usually e-mail back and forth during the day and talk for a few hours at night. We talk on the phone, mostly, but in the past we have used webcams with voicechat (my webcam is broken right now, though).

6. How far away do you live from each other?-- over 1000 miles away

7. How often do you get to see each other, and for how long? -- every 1-2 months, and we usually see each other for a few days or maybe a week at a time

9. What has been the most difficult thing you've had to deal with as part of a long distance couple? --Being apart. Saying goodbye when our visits are up. Trying to plan a wedding while being 1000 miles apart.

Another year, same ole story.

Change the numbers and nothing else has changed in 1.5 years. I'm dealing with things somewhat better. Some days anyway.

Our 4th anniversary is September 12...I believe I've become a cautionary tale. lol

We spoke on the phone maybe a couple of times a week. We also E-mailed each other a lot. It was difficult, for sure, but we were able to get through it pretty easily actually

about 150 miles and a mountain range

7. How often do you get to see each other, and for how long?

During the LDR time we saw each other about every other weekend. But from about October until March it was much fewer than that, due to winter pass conditions

Yeah, we did, and still do.

9. What has been the most difficult thing you've had to deal with as part of a long distance couple?

Not being able to celebrate our personal victories with the other person.

10. Would you do it over again had you known how it would be?

She was well worth the difficulties of being away from her. If I had to do it again, I would, definitely. I may not enjoy it, but it would certainly be worth it.

As I said above, not being able to pray in person together stinks, but praying over Skype together when we can is good. No physical intimacy like holding hands and cuddling stinks too.
