Post-traumatic Stress Disorder: Faith Lost?

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 1:1

When a foreign missionary in China was asked to define faith, he paused for a moment, & placed a full glass of water on a table. As people watched intently, he began violently pounding the table with his fist. People were trembling as water splashed everywhere. Eventually, the missionary stopped & held up the glass for all to see. He pointed to a small amount of water left inside the glass & said, "This is faith!"

We all know what it's like to be that glass. After enough poundings, we lose our sight. We cannot see our faith. Hope is lost. We become so isolated, we forget what it's like to love & be loved. We become numb to the world. We need a loving hand to reach out & help us find our faith. Eventually, hope is recovered, & we remember how to love again.

We all need loving hands to recover hope & find our faith when we're feeling helpless & overwhelmed by the trials of life.
