But the overt we’re being victimized by ‘the other side’ simply because we stand with Trump, seems to be real for many of them.

Some of our back-and-forth is light-hearted political banter, this is true, but complaining about it misses the point of why we engage with one another here.
I need to hear “what ‘the other side’ is (trying) to say,” in order to better understand their positions.

But often the other side just wants to vent and fume about stuff and there’s really no substance to work with…so it’s more light-hearted political-banter and not much else.

In 2020 Trump avoided the second debate with Biden because he couldn’t take better care of his health and now he has avoided debating his much younger, more mentally fit challengers to the GOP nomination. Clearly he wants this to be as easy as possible on him.

Changing the terms of a contract after it has been agreed to, is a move that Trump goes to often.
For his supporters it’s “the smart move”; for his detractors it’s more proof that he cannot be trusted to abide by his agreements.

They’ve already agreed to the terms of the debates. Adding a codicil for “drug testing” at this stage is really good political theater and not much else.

The law is not about elections.
In the context of the crimes he is in court for, it is irrelevant if finding him guilty may lead to him winning the election.

USA folk get to vote for whatever they want. If they find a convicted criminal more appealing than an innocent person then that is up to them. They can vote for whatever they fancy.
