Adventist: amalgamation in CERTAIN races of men.

Another historic source that shows how the terms amalgamation, races, etc. were being used in the decades leading up to Ellen White's statement.

Discussion on American Slavery ... between Mr. G. Thompson and the Rev. R. J. Breckinridge ... Second edition
1836

Mr Breckinridge did, I am ready to acknowledge, with tolerable fairness, state the views of the Abolitionists with regard to prejudice against colour; that it was sinful; that it ought to be abandoned; and that the coloured man should be raised to the enjoyment of equal civil and religious privileges with the whites. But after he had, generally speaking, correctly laid down the views of the Abolitionists, he proceeded to put the most unfair interpretation upon those views; and strangely contended, that they were directly aiming to accomplish the amalgamation of the races in the fullest sense of that word. Once again, I deny this. Once again, I appeal to all that the Abolitionists have ever written or spoken; to their published, official, solemn, authoritative disclaimers; and I say on my own behalf, and on theirs, that, with the intermixture of the races, as they are called, (a phrase I do not like) the Abolitionists have nothing to do. What they have ever contended for is this, that the coloured man should now be delivered from the condition of a beast; that he should cease to be regarded as the property of his fellow-man and that according to the laws of the State, regulating the qualifications of citizens, he should be admitted to a participation of the privileges that are enjoyed by other classes of the community. We have never asked for more. We have left the doctrine of amalgamation to be settled by our opponents. The Slave-holders are the amalgamatists, whose licentiousness has gone far to put an end to the existence of a black race in the South; and who are still carrying on to use their own expression "a bleaching system," whitening the population of the South, so that you may now discover all shades of coloured persons; from those who are so fair that they are scarcely distinguishable from the whites, to the pure black of the unmixed Negro.

The present truth.

Col. 1:26-28 (NKJV)
26 the mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His saints. 27 To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. 28 Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.
Peter was not talking about salvation being extended to the gentiles, that was Pauls ministry. Peter was an apostle to the Jews & was talking about the truth that Jesus the Jewish Messiah & lamb of God had come & what that meant for Jews putting their faith in Him.

Why " JUST" a theory?

You mean the mixture of theories, hypothesis and speculation that reside under the colloquial misnomer umbrella “ theory of evolution” which is not a theory in scientific sense “ goes some way to explaining how RECENT populations change over time “ . The more recent the more is known.

“ theory of evolution” is not - and never was a single theory. Nor is the most celebrated part of it - Darwin - is not even a theory.

Then : Recognising little or nothing is known of development prior to the minimum known cell which is hideously complex , what is known at best accounts for lessthan 1% of the puzzle , not the 99 % that preceded it.

in short atheists such as Dawkins way overplay their hand on what is known about life.

Nor is the colloquial misnOmer“ theory of evolution” an Alternative to “ creation” which tackles a different issue completely.
I don't suppose you can come up with any way
to falsify any aspect of ToE.

The way things work in science is, if you think any
hypothesis/ law / theory is wrong, you apply facts to
falsify it, if you can.

ToE, BB, deep time are all unpopular with "creationists",
who favour stories that have no facts, and in many
aspects readily falsified by facts.

Your posts just rehash the same irrelevancies
over and over.

In a phys sci forum discussion you need facts.

Reminding you once again this thread is not about evolution.
its about all theories that people try to denugrate
with that ignorant designation.

Isn't it about time you courageously step forth
with at least one fact that falsifiedsany of the theories
that contradict whatever " creation" story you choose to favour?

Kid's Corporal Punishment - a Risk to Mental Health

The whole point is to remove gender stereotypes and rigid roles that dictate how anyone should think and feel (and act) based on their gender.
But what is a gender stereotype as opposed to natural traits and inclinations. The narrative has been stereotypical traits like mascullinity, aggression, nobel protective qualities, competiveness and adventure are all nasty stereotypes we need to be rid of. Yet they are natural male qualities.
I'm not treating such a ridiculous question seriously. Get back to me when we have a majority of women across every position of power on the planet.
Your actually proving my point. That you don't want to even entertain the idea that the oppression could ever be the other way around. We have to wait until every single women is percieved to have equal status until we bother to think about mens disadvanatge. The exact same logic and measures for women, for all identity groups should be applied to all identity groups.

So any inequality between identity groups should be viewed as unjust disadvantage including male inequality. Otherwise we are favouring one group over another which is the exact definition of descrimination.
No, you didn't. You gave me a bunch of polemic.
So how is academic peer reviewed science polemic.
But that's only a problem for you in the industries where women dominate?
No its a problem for everyone because if the thinking and policies become more feminine as a result of that dominance then its actually changing the thinking, narratives and outlook is reflected in everything, how we treat males, the policies and structure of learning for example, the curiculum.

We already see this with Woke ideology reflected in DEI within the institutions which basically stem from feminist critical theory. I am not just making this up, its researched and factual.
A premise I reject. It should be possible to create an environment that is safe and "friendly" for everyone.
Unreal. I gave you the example of how gender and Trans ideology which basically stems from feminist critical theory has made things unsafe for women in sports and their spaces. The same thing happens with males when institutions are feminised. It creates an uncomfortable and unfriendly space for males.
Sorry, no. I am not buying this idea that men are losing because women are gaining. Like I said, wellbeing is not a zero-sum game.
I gave you the examples of how it is exactly a zero sum gain. Tell me do you think women have lost rights, made to feel unwelcome and unfafe in their own spaces due to the gains of Trans rights to enter biological womens spaces. This is the reality your denying. The exact same thing happens with all identity politics including to men. Its a horrible, divisive and harmful ideology.
Can you find any that isn't ideologically freighted to begin with?
What, science being ideologically frightened. What does that even mean. I am talking about facts. What we actually observe in reality happening. What the science says as to what is a male and female, mascullinity and femininity. What the research says. The same methods we use for all other issues besides race, sex and gender for human behaviour. It seems the science goes out the window when it comes to race, sex and gender.

Though I do agree academia can by indoctrinated with ideology. That is exactly what is happening now when people deny reality in place of subjective beliefs.
I know that some schools of feminism saw marriage as irredeemably oppressive and discouraged it. What I see, though, as the fruit of that is that generally our understanding of marriage has changed. We do see it much more as a partnership of equals than it was in the past. So the radical critique was effective in driving very much needed change. Ultimately, that's not an undermining; that's a strengthening.
The radical critique went far beyond making marriage more equal and I question that it even achieved that considering the mess we are in with marriage and relationships in general and the war between the sexes and genders.

But it did far morte damage. Its no coincident that soon after marriage and families went down the drain and lost all value. What if there was some truth as the Bible seems to suggest that the traditional marriage and family was Gods order for humankind. If thats the case then we are doing everything to undermine this. That surely cannot be good in the long run.
I agree; that's why we need to tackle any "upstream" beliefs and attitudes which encourage the acceptance of violence, the valuing of hierarchy, power and control, and rigid roles. The rest, however, is just not relevant.
It is relevant because this will tell us exactly which situations, which beliefs support absuive hierarchies and control as opposed to natural and healthy ones. Otherwise we then assume all hierarchies and control are automatically abusive and therefore commit abuse ourselves by forcing unnatural situations onto people denying what may be healthy, necessary and good for society.
What evidence? I've been working in this space for years, and I don't see a "vast amount of evidence" that the beliefs and attitudes which underpin abuse are anything other than what I have been explaining.
:sigh: I have given you ample evidence. You just deny it.

Hold the Fort For I am Coming

The chosen people of God in Asia cannot win by their own in the Asian battlefield, as the dark forces have a clear advantage. The drying up of the Euphrates River (in practical and spiritual meaning) will make it easier for the kings of the Sunrise region to participate in the Middle Eastern battlefield.

Normandt' meditations

175. Jesus in our hearts

It must have been so difficult for the people who know Jesus to recognize him in his new mission. Jesus changed according to their eyes. From one day to the next, Jesus is on a mission and he must be very different before them. He says and he does what others can’t do.

They perceive here and there fragments of what Jesus realizes and it’s difficult to place the few pieces of the puzzle in a frame, especially when there are many missing pieces. In addition, they may receive conflicting messages of what they hear about Jesus.

Even today, the ambient message about Jesus, in general, in the world, is sometimes discordant. But it’s sometimes easy to trust the fears, rather than what Jesus tells us and realizes.

The people from his home, watching him go, came to seize him because they said:
“He is out of his mind.” Mark, chapter 3, verse 21

They want to protect their idea of Jesus. They can’t imagine for a moment that Jesus entered another stage of his life.

It’s a bit like that when a person causes problems in an environment. If people don’t check the foundation of a person’s mission, fear may be taking hold of some people and it may further harm the mission, instead of helping to build a more just, better world, merciful and true.

If we begin, in the immediate future, a mission in the name of Jesus, there is a good chance that our surroundings will find us different. It’s also possible that some people won’t recognize who we are, since we’re experiencing a transformation by following Jesus. It is a sign that we’re moving forward and a testimony of our faith to them.

Let’s give them some time to join us and understand, in faith. Let’s pray that they will also discover Jesus in their hearts. Let’s give them time to adjust to this novelty.

It’s then necessary to meet with other people who have faith in Jesus, to truly enter the mission that allows us to live and achieve goodness.

Let’s listen, discern, then encourage and help those who evangelize honestly in the name of Christ, with Christ.

Are You Living for Jesus Christ?

“Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says,
‘Today, if you hear his voice,
do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion,
on the day of testing in the wilderness,
where your fathers put me to the test
and saw my works for forty years.
Therefore I was provoked with that generation,
and said, “They always go astray in their heart;
they have not known my ways.”
As I swore in my wrath,
“They shall not enter my rest.”’
“Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God. But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called ‘today,’ that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. For we have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original confidence firm to the end. As it is said, ‘Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.’” (Hebrews 3:7-15 ESV)

It is assumed that the apostle Paul wrote the book of Hebrews, so I will use his name as the author, but truly the author was God – Father, Son Jesus Christ, and Holy Spirit. And whoever it was who physically wrote down these words was just a servant of the Lord, a messenger of God whom God used to pen his words to us, his people.

Now the book of Hebrews appears to be written to the Hebrew Christians, which could have well included those who only professed faith in Jesus Christ but who were not committed to following him with their lives. For the wording indicates that these are those who are holy brethren, who share in the heavenly calling, and there is a warning here to them against falling away from the living God, which they could not do if they weren’t already in relationship with Jesus Christ. So it is safe for us to apply these words today to all who make a profession of faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord.

And the reason that we can safely apply these words to us who believe in Jesus Christ is that we are taught this kind of message all throughout the New Testament. For our salvation from sin is not a one-time decision we make to “believe in Jesus” and then we are good to go to heaven when we die, but regardless of how we live. For if our faith is genuine, we have died with Christ to sin and we have been raised with Christ to walk in newness of life in him, no longer as slaves to sin, but now as slaves to God and to his righteousness. But if sin is what we practice, we will not have eternal life.

So, if we have believed in Jesus Christ, in truth and in righteousness, then we are saved (past), we are being saved (present active), and we will be saved (future) when Jesus Christ returns for his faithful bride, which is when our salvation will be complete, and not until then, but provided that we continue in Christ in walks of faith and obedience to him and to his commands, and that we do not continue to walk in sin. For our salvation is progressive and it won’t be finished until we who are walking with him in obedience to him go to be with him for eternity.

And this is why, all throughout the New Testament, we are taught that we must walk (in conduct, in practice) in holiness and in righteousness and in obedience to our Lord and to his commands and no longer in sin if we want to have salvation from sin and the hope of eternal life with God. So what Hebrews 3 is teaching here is fully consistent with the whole of the teachings in the New Testament on the subjects of salvation from sin and eternal life with God. We must guard our hearts against getting spiritually lazy and slack, thinking our salvation is a sure thing, then end up falling away.

So we do need to pay close attention to these words, and we must guard our hearts against hardening our hearts against the Lord and against his commandments (New Covenant) and against falling back into sinful lifestyles, making sexual immorality, impurity, lying, cheating, stealing, and committing adultery, etc., what we practice, and not righteousness, and not obedience to our Lord, and not submission to him as Lord of our lives. For if we walk in deliberate and habitual sin, it won’t matter what we profess with our lips. We will not inherit eternal life with God.

So this is why we must exhort one another, as Christians, EVERY DAY, so that none of us may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. For we have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original confidence firm to the end. And the original confidence must be based in the truth of the Scriptures which teach that faith in Christ that is genuine results in us dying with Christ to sin and us now walking (in conduct, in practice) in holy living and in obedience to his commands, and not just once, but daily, in practice. So do not take this lightly, for walking in the truth results in eternal life with God.

Wrong Info given by Trump, After his Guilty Verdict

CNN Senior Legal Analyst Describes How The Trump Conviction Was A Political Hit Job

By Elie Honig, a former federal and state prosecutor and a contributor to CAFE. And CNN senior legal analyst.

1. "The judge donated money... in plain violation of a rule prohibiting New York judges from making political donations—to a pro-Biden, anti-Trump political operation."

2. Alvin Bragg boasted on the campaign trail in an overwhelmingly Democrat county, “It is a fact that I have sued Trump over 100 times.”

3. "Most importantly, the DA’s charges against Trump push the outer boundaries of the law and due process."

4. "The charges against Trump are obscure, and nearly entirely unprecedented. In fact, no state prosecutor — in New York, or Wyoming, or anywhere — has ever charged federal election laws as a direct or predicate state crime, against anyone, for anything. None. Ever."

5. The DA inflated misdemeanors past the statute of limitations and "electroshocked them back to life" by alleging the falsification of business records was committed 'with intent to commit another crime.'

6. "Inexcusably, the DA refused to specify what those unlawful means actually were — and the judge declined to force them to pony up — until right before closing arguments. So much for the constitutional obligation to provide notice to the defendant of the accusations against him in advance of trial."

7. "In these key respects, the charges against Trump aren’t just unusual. They’re bespoke, seemingly crafted individually for the former president and nobody else."

8. "The Manhattan DA’s employees reportedly have called this the “Zombie Case” because of various legal infirmities, including its bizarre charging mechanism. But it’s better characterized as the Frankenstein Case, cobbled together with ill-fitting parts into an ugly, awkward, but more-or-less functioning contraption that just might ultimately turn on its creator."

Did Christ die for the sin of unbelief ?

The work of the devil, which unbelief is, cannot render the work of Christ on a sinners behalf ineffective or futile. But thats exactly what people are saying when they claim Christ died for people who still perish in their sins because of unbelief Jn 8:24

24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.

That unbelief is satan's work producing unbelief is seen in a couple of verses. #1 2 Cor 4:3-4

3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:

4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

#2 Lk 8:12

Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.

So if Jesus died for a person for the intention of saving that person from their sins, and that person nevertheless dies in unbelief, and never believes and be saved, then the devil rendered Jesus purpose to save ineffective, and gains the victory over the Son of God concerning that soul. Thats why I dont believe a person Christ died for can die in their sins in unbelief !

Time frames that end on the day that Jesus Returns

The kjv of Daniel 9:27 says in the midst of the week, not midpoint.
The scriptural precedent for an approximate time is Revelation 8:1, the Seventh Seal which is;.... about a half hour in heaven.

In the midst is the same as the mid point, proved by Daniel 9:27a....with one half spent....[of the 7 year treaty.]
This means what it says; there is no room to add or subtract anything.

Only those with weird and wonderful theories of adding days before the AoD happens, have the need to do that.

Revelation 11 and Revelation 12

The three 'spirits like frogs', will do that job. Rev 16:13
The reason is that Satan knows Jesus is coming back and his time has nearly run out.
Why should the kings of the earth care if Satan's time was nearly run out ? What makes you think they even are aware that Satan is present within abomination of desolation statue image making it appear alive and speak ?

keras, what you are missing is that there has to be a visible physical threat that scares the kings of the earth to take action to gather their armies at Armageddon to make war on Jesus.

Our Awesome God

On May 25, 2011, I was sitting on the sofa in the evening, spending some quiet time alone with God before I went to bed, and I was asking him to speak to my heart whatever he might want to say to me.

The words to one of the Psalms began going through my mind about praising God, so I walked over to the (piano) keyboard, sat down to play, and the Lord gave me this song about praising our awesome God.

As the Lord gave me the words, I sang them back to him in worship and in praise. The words read just like a conversation, which I was having with my Lord in which I was thanking him for who he is and for all that he has done for us in saving us and in providing us with the Holy Spirit to be our comforter and our counselor.

What is the human soul technically?

From my studies, a soul is the union of a spirit and a body.

Genesis 2:7 KJV
7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

breathed = spirit

There are three elements or parts:

1 Thessalonians 5:23 KJV
23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The spirit and soul can be separated and, therefore, distinguished from each other. They are not the same:

Hebrews 4:12 KJV
12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Watchmen Nee has an excellent study on this topic in his book "The Spiritual Man."

Most teachers hold that the spirit is the identity of a man.
"I am a spirit, I have a soul, I live in a body."

I believe it the soul is seat of your identity
"I am a soul, I have a spirit and a body."
Thank you so much for the gem of thruth
