These structures are strikingly similar to seven forebrain regions that are involved in vocal learning and production in songbirds and parrots—the only other avian orders known to be vocal learners<a href="http://www.nature.com/nature/journal/v406/n6796/full/406628a0.html#B5" target="_blank">5</a>.
