[QUOTE="underpressure, post: 54191126, member: 252230"] Yes, lets! If you were elected a politician that would be all the proof I'd need that we live in a Godless world. Sorry, I joke, apart from starting to sound a little bit like a broken record, I'm sure you mean the best, we all do. Have you ever in your life felt like you were trapped in a situation you didn't want to be in, but had no easy escape from? Perhaps you were living with someone you really couldn't stand maybe hated, but your financial position at the time meant it was either grin and bear it which can be very testing when the rage is building up inside, or the alternative is living on the streets, could have been living with your mum or dad, a sibling, girlfriend, a college room mate or anyone that you had to share close living space with? Or perhaps your one and only true friend at school is being really horrible to you, making you feel really small, and you can't work out why this person is doing this to you, but if you lose that friend you will be totally isolated during your school hours, lunch etc ? Or your boss is being a total and utter jerk, totally unreasonable, shouting at you, being rude, but if you tell him where to go you'll lose your job, and your home. Or maybe you were being bullied at some point and didn't know where to turn? If anything like that or similar has ever happened to you can you remember how it felt, how helpless you felt at the time? It's a horrible feeling to be in a situation like that, one of the worst feelings in the world, luckily most of us only have to go through something like that temporarily and then we find an escape. For many women though, they were trapped in these situations, in a loveless, cruel marriage for all their lives, as they really did have no where to go, no money, no education, no profession so they were totally and utterly trapped with someone who is making their life misery, not necessarily physically even, but psychologically which is in some ways worse. Can you really comprehend how that must feel, the helplessness. Yes, marriage should be worked at, I really don't think many people take marriage and divorce lightly in the real world outside of showbiz, they really don't. But we should promote a society where there is less chance of people getting trapped into horrible situations they can't escape from. We can not value the institution of marriage higher than the happiness of fully grown adults. Human feelings really should come first, way ahead of a dogged determination to keep divorce rates down.
