Lets see...there was a nation wide black out in italy today.

What does that make this? 3 major black outs in one month in 3 diffrent countries. And they keep giving the same reasons, lightning hit in just the right spot to knock the power out to such a large place.

Call me crazy but these power black outs are looking man made (and I mean on purpose).

Your thoughts on the reason for these black outs?

Coincedence combined with attrition. Chaos theory predicts bundles of failures, and bundles of cascade failures, especially as equipment declines over time.

I keep advising people to be prepared for unexpected situations such as power outtages.

Earthquake, volcano, hurricane, tornado...

When the lights go out...
what will you do for heat (if it's winter)?

Do you have food to eat which does not need electrical cooking?

Do you have water if water lines fail (and you can't buy bottled water or anything at all because electricity is out?)

DO you have a supply of necessary ,medicines, to hole you for a week minimum?

***

People will say to me that "it'll never happen here".. and "I'll prepare right before something happens."

Well, if something unexpected happens you can't prepare prior.. unless you are ALWAYS prepared.

Have emergency supplies at work (if for some unexpected reason you cannot reach home)

have emergency supplies at home (It may be safer to stay home during an emergency than to venture out in chaos)

have emergency supplies in your vehicle (in case you are in transit when something unpected happens; like a breakdown/accident on Interstate which strands motorists on Interstate for 12 hours, at night, during winter. That happened here in Arkansas.)
