I have only been on TAW briefly in the past week or so and I just saw this. Lord continue to have mercy and heal this child. I too pray that all will be well from this point forward with no recurrences.

I agree with Joshua G. It is fantastic. They do prefer you at least try and search before asking questions, I find that most of my questions have already been asked and have answers. I would say it is the most serious Orthodox forum I have come across.

I think he means esteemed contemporary Orthodox spiritual leaders that have spoken on public education. Some "Great Christian Giants" of our day (not sure if they have ever spoken on public education) would be Father Seraphim Rose, Father Cleopa, Elder Ephraim, Father Arsenie etc.

I actually recieved advice from a great heiromonk regarding this subject. It was a quick converstaion so we didn't get into details. He told me to homeschool and not to put my children in the public school system when the time came.

I agree with OutetWater. You be the Christian example dont get mad and humble yourself. They may realize that the only fool is themselves for trying to get a rise out of you to begin with.

I don't know about that but that remided me of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Monastery in Port Huron MI. After the meal that is after Divine Liturgy they serve Starbucks style drinks complete with flavor shots, espresso, whipped cream, carmel...the works. I had some of the best mixed coffee drinks...

Yeah, it was fine when my first was the only one there, I was able to stay in the back more to sing and nobody really noticed her. It was kind of hard for me not to sing since I was one of 2 sopranos. It's kind of difficult with 2 to keep them quiet especially when the youngest is only 9 months...

My husband is the choir director and I sing soprano as well. I do think it is a labor of love as well, and I do enjoy my time there. Currently I am on extended choir leave of absence ever since my youmgest daughter became mobile and could not sit quietly in her carseat anymore. Hopefully once...
