    Abiogenesis

Neanderthal Man and Cro-magnon Man are not mythical creatures. Cro-magnon is just a particular group of ordinary human beings (Homo sapiens, that is). Even if they didn't exist, that does not make them mythological creatures.

Great Book About The Evolution Industry

I don't think that this is true. I remember not long ago there was a big bruhaha when a Muslim congressman was sworn in on a koran. And although the Constitution says one must swear an oath or make an affirmation to do their jobs, &c. it never mentions a Bible as a reqirement.

If you want to remain a creationist,

Why don't you believe in evolution? What weaknessess are there in the evidence for evolution that you are not convinced? What evidence against evolution have you encountered?

    Natural Selection and Homosexuality

The way I see it, if there is no right and wrong without God, there can be no right and wrong with God. To do good is to maximize happiness. To do evil is to cause suffering. That's how I see it, anyway. If morality can't exist without God's command, then morality is totally relative and...

    I have a theory,

Cabal didn't insult your character. He pointed out what he saw as flaws in your position. His age doesn't seem relevant here. Can you explain why you think he was acting immaturely? How old are you? What does it mean for someone to abdicate his intellectual power? How was his comment trite...

It's impossible there was no flood.

Don't you think it's a little much to compare creationism to mental illness? I'm getting rather sick of people doing that on these forums. Most people believe strange things, and that probably includes you and me.

It's impossible there was no flood.

Well, I think that you probably do believe what you say. I don't think though that anyone is arbitrarily accusing you of not being able to defend your views properly. For instance, I find your explaination of embedded age to be completely illogical. It's not arbitrary at all, but rather is an...

Did fish live before the fall?

That might explain why he always talks about the "software" we supposedley use to come to our decisions.

It's impossible there was no flood.

Have a good day, yourself. :) You are probably right about this argument being a waste of time. In all the years I've been reading this forum, I've yet to see you explain how embedded age is not YEC without also making it into literal nonsense. The argument may have been a nice distraction...

    Natural Selection and Homosexuality

You may agree, but I'm not sure who you are agreeing with. A sense of justice is the same type of sense as a sense of humor. Justice and injustice are products of the relationships of human beings to one another. So, yes, justice does exist externally, for without an external world, there...

    The Moon is shrinking........

Both. :P "The gods [planets] that go down must also increase so the balance is maintained." -- Scopiolious Francescolino Byronisipion, philosopher king, 2257 (Are you taking me seriously, Doveaman?)

It's impossible there was no flood.

But you don't believe in an old Earth, AV. You believe in an Earth that has been in existence for roughly 6,000 years. You've made that plain as day. That's the same thing as saying the Earth is roughly 6,000 years old. Your notion of the Earth having a physical age of 4.5 billion years is...

    the great alchemy thread

Actually, if nothing is impossible, then that does, in fact, mean that everything is possible. If anything isn't possible then it is false that nothing is impossible.

    I have a theory,

It certainly looks that way to me. True. I think that beyond the fight to keep creationism out of classrooms, the only thing a non-creationist Christian can do to give creationists a "hard time" without being a complete jerk is to post in forums like this one and debate (or do it in person)...

    The Moon is shrinking........

Sorry, I got mixed up. I meant to say that shrinking is the result of expansion.

    I have a theory,

Why do you think that? Why would non-creationist Christians get a feeling of superiority from creationism?

    Natural Selection and Homosexuality

Atheists rest their morality upon the same thing as you: Their inate sense of justice combined with the values instilled in them by parents and culture.

    Natural Selection and Homosexuality

Personally, I had always considered that it was quite likely that there actually was no such thing as a Christian, even back when I still believed in Jesus's divinity. :)
