    Why is evil people portrayed as intelligent?

    I don't believe there is any correlation between being smart and being good or bad. Intelligence and morality are unrelated. I'm sure the majority of smart people are decent people, but there have been serial killers with high IQs. There are other smart people who did horrible things, like...

    What is the Philosophy of Art?

    You just reminded me of a thread I was going to make in the Science forum years ago. Never got around to it. Maybe I'll do it tomorrow. I'd have to be both willing and able. Anyway, if it's anything abstract, don't bother posting it. There's about a 95% chance I won't like it. :)

    What is the Philosophy of Art?

    I had a cousin who was a pretty serious artist. I was at her place right after she'd returned from a trip to Russia. She wanted to show me a picture of a church she'd painted. Naturally I was expecting to see one of the thousands of unusually beautiful, magnificent Orthodox churches in Russia...

    That is what I'm saying - that's the way it is. I'm a realist who deals with reality. If you want to argue "social construct" the burden's on you to prove that it's a social construct. But even if you prove it's a social construct, it remains that this is "the way it is".

    You're correct, no one is concerned to offer it for the reason I stated: we're different. But you can seek protection if you want, that's up to you.

    Yet Again, At Planet Fitness...

    Some years ago, when the New Atheism was fading away, even atheists like Sam Harris, Douglas Murray, Eric Weinstein and the Jew Ben Shapiro began conceding that Christian culture had value. When they looked at the insanity and absurdity and violence of the late 20-teens, they realized that there...

    What is currently on your mind?

    Yep. Most of the year I live under the delusion that I own my home. Then comes that time of year when I'm reminded, nope, you're just renting from your landlord, the county. Property taxes are bizarre to me because every human needs shelter to live - a place to sleep, eat, etc. It's basically...

    Well sure, but He never explicitly approved of any profession. He never said "blessed are the farmers" or "blessed are the carpenters". (And I hope no Monty Python fan mentions cheesemakers being blessed. :)}

    Knights would not have been rejected. Jesus did not condemn the centurion, He healed his servant, and praised his faith. Jesus never condemned a soldier for being a soldier, and Christianity being a religion not devoid of practicality and common sense, neither did the early Church.
