    Possible scam?

My own personal rule of thumb is to simply not answer the phone (or door) if it's someone I don't know. Of course, I'm somewhat reclusive outside of work (work drains my social battery, lol!), so the chances that the call/visit is from someone I know is relatively small! -

What's your favorite or not commercial?

For me, it's just a poignant illustration of how no matter how old our children get, they'll always be our lil' munchkins on some level. The dad sees his daughter as his little girl, even though she's old enough to drive. :blueheart: -

What's your favorite or not commercial?

The ones I like are older, because a few years ago I unplugged the TV since I had no use for it. This Subaru commercial gets me right in the gut every time I see it; I can't help but tear up a little: ( now where did I put my kleenex... ? )

Why do people do this? It makes me crazy!

I think I understand what you're saying. I have this issue at work sometimes. When I'm on my break, I like to read an e-book. I have co-workers who might not pick up on my absorption in said book. I will acknowledge when I'm spoken to, but I keep my responses detached and brief before...

    Strangest experience last night…

I have had this happen. I'll have a micro-dream that I'm walking and my feet go out from under me, followed by the sensation of falling and it wakes me up with a start.

    Religion of" peace".

Sorry to have struck a nerve ... apparently ... but no one is justified to commit atrocities on anyone. And please don't project assumptions on other people, especially those you don't know. It's rude.

    Religion of" peace".

Well, the book I'm thinking of ( considered quite holy— it even says so on the cover of at least one of mine ) has some pretty gruesome moments of its own. -

Transgender efforts reach the US State Department

My scattered thoughts on the issue, but maybe they’ll help someone, I don’t know: What people don’t seem to realize is that we are not our bodies. Even if the body were reconfigured to more closely reflect the wearer’s perceptions thereof, it still wouldn’t adequately convey who/what we are in...

Transgender efforts reach the US State Department

I was just thinking along those same lines regarding Blinken and his concern about certain words... Seems as though (apparent) fear of certain words isn't limited to just one side of the issue. I consider it a good day if the worst thing I have to deal with is words. After all, it could be...

Do you think this picture is Jesus? Why or why not

Thank you for catching that equivocation, Laodicean60. Now if people would please stop tagging me in this thread, I'd appreciate it.

    I am Tired of arguing...

Yes! I was recently handed a metaphorical club to beat a dead horse I had walked away from a long, long time ago. I engaged just long enough to highlight the fact that the issue raised was already addressed by me back then and left as quickly as I came. I used to be able to argue the paint off...

Do you think this picture is Jesus? Why or why not

My goodness, this thread is five years old; why am I being sucked back into this? I don't even do forum debates anymore. Anyway, I'll simply repeat what I said prior, in post #88, and then re-Unwatch the thread once more: Beauty is in the eye of the beholder; it's subjectively...

Hillary Clinton calls for "Formal Deprogramming" of Trump supporters

Also - "Formal" deprogramming? Would people have to dress up for that? Couldn't it be "business casual" deprogramming? Okay sorry ... I'll see myself out.

Hillary Clinton calls for "Formal Deprogramming" of Trump supporters

I'm zooming out to address the bigger picture here: Personally, I think if any deprogramming healing were to be done it would be to free the masses from this rather odd mindset that there are only two parties to choose from when voting for a President. No camps, though - camping is a pain. :)...

Federal Officials Blow the Whistle on Plan for New COVID Lockdowns

I'll just leave this here, just to balance things out a bit: Republicans Warn of COVID-19 Mandates That Don't Exist Of course, time will tell, either way.

What is Jesus Saving us from ?

Newway, if it's any consolation, Christianity is very diverse when it comes beliefs about these things. There's the Good News that we're all familiar with, and then there's what I call the Great News, which proclaims Jesus as being 100% successful in his mission to save the world, and anyone...

    Black people assaulting white people

I have social media and have never seen any of this. I also don't see it in my day to day life. The only mention of it I've seen thus far is this thread. On a Christian forum, if that makes any difference. Not sure what to make of it.

    Terrors in our sleep

I haven't had a proper nightmare in forever. I have dreams that are frustrating in mundane, everyday kinds of ways, but nothing so scary that it jolts me awake. Probably the most remarkable experiences I've had in recent years while sleeping were "OBEs" during daytime naps. Otherwise, nada.
