Replying to an Orthodox objection to - kneeling on Sundays

We kneel in the parish I go to on Sundays during the consecration of the Eucharist. It is fairly common in Greek and Antiochian Orthodox parishes.

Eastern Empire, Constantine Christianity & Life: How much of Catholic History's True?

The first video is very sad. It struck a nerve when he said that Catholics worship the devil. The most Christian people I've ever known were Roman Catholics. Many Protestants don't believe that they are even Christian (they would lump us in the same category). What does the preacher think...

Does Anyone Use Incense in their own Personal Times of Prayer?

I use incense every once in a while at home. I have a little collection of incense from the Hermitage of Holy Cross as well as Holy Transfiguration Monastery.

To be fair to Muhammad, Aisha was 6 or 7 when the marriage was arranged and the betrothal took place. She was roughly 9 or 10 when she was joined with Muhammad. Also, this was not at all uncommon in Arabian tribal culture (and tribal culture in general). The marriage was a political alliance...

    Observe Sabbath?

I think most monastics probably do their work on Saturday. I can only speak for the Hermitage of Holy Cross in West Virginia. Saturday is a relaxed day. There is usually a Liturgy in the morning followed by private prayer in the cell and then doing whatever work they are appointed to do for that...

    Question about Latin Catholic hymn.

I didn't know where else to ask. In the Salve Regina, the text reads: "Salve, Regina, Mater misericordiae." Why is it then that I have come across recordings that leave out "Mater"? With: Salve Regina - YouTube Without: Chant of the Templars - Salve Regina (final part) - YouTube Thanks! :)

Prayer to Our Lady of Czestochowa

    Starting the rosary

This site helped me learn. Its quite helpful because it is an interactive rosary and you click on the different parts and it says which prayers are to be said on which beads, etc. It is from a more traditional Catholic source since it only includes the Joyful, Sorrowful, and Glorious Mysteries...

    venerating relics question

I guess it depends on how one feels about the Catholic Church. If I find one that is unlocked in the middle of the day, I go in a say a quick prayer and I often stop into one of the Polish churches and light a candle at the small shrine for Our Lady of Czestochowa.

Greece burning and Syria in turmoil...

I've seen those commercials. From what I've heard, many people are returning to the Catholic Church as well as converting. There are plenty of Orthodox converts from Catholicism who are even going back to Rome (some in my family have done this). As for Orthodoxy in America, I'm probably not as...
