I'm just wondering, why are you debating Creationism and Evolution in an ENGLISH class? I dunno, it just seems like something that you'd be talking about in Ancient Civilizations or Biology, not English.

That verse is talking about how God formed the universe out of nothing, thus making it out of something "invisible". It does not mean that nothing new can ever be created in the world. Evolution could just be how the things that God initially created in the universe have changed over time. But...
