Ok there is nothing to see here ... ok so this is the point that I have come to recently, some people in the world can't even see, blind due to environmental factors, factors which can be mitigated, many could be given sight back through simple operations. So these people could never play a computer game, without an operation, which many of them will never get.
My quandary as a casual gammer, is should I buy that $60 game, or give three people back their sight through donating to a charity helping the blind.
1Ti 6:17-18 Command those who are rich in the things of this life not to be proud, but to place their hope, not in such an uncertain thing as riches, but in God, who generously gives us everything for our enjoyment. Command them to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share with others.
Now this is a bit heavy for a gammer, but I am now putting on the teaching hat. Note the scripture above God commands us rich bunnies, to a) acknowledge that yes God gives us everything to enjoy, but b) we must seriously consider the poor and needy who may not enjoy what we do.
So my internal challenge was, I play my games that I have, maybe buy one every six months, may be none at all. And give my spending money to the needy.
I see it this way, every $60 I spend on a game, is 3 people I failed to give sight back to. Can I live with that?
For the die hard gammer's out there, if you can't kick the habit, at least try giving as much to the poor as you spend on games. If you buy a $60 game give $60 to the poor.
For me I am saying, I will try to not buy a game again, just use my old ones, so I can help the needy.
Just consider, what about the people who can't even see to play a game.
