• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Serial Sinner...you wish to deal with your diabetes on the Spiritual level. Well Good for you. There is one thing you can try. First praise and thank God for your diabetes. Diabetes is poison of the blood...because Spiritually we have poison in our souls. so try this..seek to find why God is sending you this message. Once you have your answer...praise and thank God for letting you have diabetes. But so that you are not using praising and thanking for getting what you want...it is okay to say to God that you wish a cure this is normal...who does not wish a cure when he is sick...until it happens...you will thank God and praise God for your diabetes. Now do not do it just for that...learn to thank and praise God for all things...in your life...even for a red light when you are late for an appointment. I always miss that one. This is a learning process and takes time to incorporate it in everything in our life. God counts as ungrateful them who thank Him for only the good things in their life. Forgetting that God is in charge for all life experiences in our life even for the uncomfortable ones.

I have type 2 diabetes and was wondering if there is any cure for this disease.I lived with it for years and it is quite hard to live with cause of the sweets out there I like to try. I know god can make me a stronger person but for some reason I can have doubts. I do not like to live like this with diabetes. And is there any cure for this disease or not? I wish I didn't have it.
I forgot when I was diagnosed with diabetes so I can't explain any farther.

There are a lot of things one can do to control type 2 diabetes until God cures you. First of all type 2 diabetes is making your cells more impervious to insulin. The problem is not not a lack of insulin but the ability of your cell to use to transform sugar to energy for the rest of your body. Taking more insulin over time increases resistance in your cells to absorb use insulin to change sugar to energy.

There are many things you can get from health store or use your browser to search... to help your cells to become less resistant to your insulin. Such as for example Cinna pure or other products that strips the oil of cinnamon. Cinnamon spice contains oils that can damage organs if taken in great quantity. So look for something that concentrate the key ingredients of Cinnamon and it will help with your diabetes. There are other products that works with your cells to energize them and help them become more efficient in transforming sugars to energy. But they cost a lot. Exercise is crucial..with this. If you exercise a lot you can eat things like apple pies,,,ice cream in small quantity. Preferably your exercising is done after supper. Fasting is good for the Spirit as well as for the body. Also drink lots of water. Fasting starves your cells from sugars and help clean your blood from excessive sugars. IF you fast one or two days a week...your cell resistance to insulin should begin to decrease for a time. There was a time I ate only one meal a day.....Sure I would have a spike ..but it would be only one for that whole day... for the next 21 hours or so...my body could deal with the rest of it. I went more protein than carbo.

Do you have any data, on how many of these cases that God has cured?

Other than myself none....And I do not ask God for cures...but a modification of it so that it does not affect my lifestyle. I would want God to return it to me if I stray to far from the path. I also used to have severe bouts of Gout...And I have a Job that requires that I be on my feet. Talk about living hell. I deserved it...and it was due to suffering that led me to my spiritual awakening and become a Spiritual seeker (Wayfaring man - ISaiah). Jesus said...Where obedience has been learned there is no more need for suffering. Afflictions and diseases are ministers of repentance. And are also used for purification. The difference between suffering because of wrath..or for purification....is that...it will have a beginning, middle and a ending..whereas when we are given something because of sins it last and gets worse until it takes us to our Grave. A great example to use and this sin is visible and we can see how it slowly takes people to the Grave if they do not repent. It is called Gluttony. At first there is not much problem, but over time if not repented of it brings Obesity and all the other things associated with it. And it gets worse over time taking mobility and quality of life away. Other sins are not so visible so we cannot know for sure why someone is suffering. So it is best to not judge the individual and leave it to God.

Repenting of Gluttony bring forgiveness but not always a reversal of the problems if it has been going on a long time. At this point once having repented it is much easier to have boldness with God in seeking a modification or full healing. And if it does happen...remember Satan has a right to have a turn at the bat and make you doubt and take your blessing away. At 62 I am the oldest member of the Badminton club. A few years ago I was playing Volley ball 2 nights a week and badminton two nights a week. I was always running out time in doing other stuff. So I dropped playing Volley Ball. In the Spring for a while I usually do 4 nights a week to get in better shape for Golf. I do not normally use Gold Carts...So I need to be in shape.

I was diagnosed with Diabetes 2 a couple of years ago. I have lost some weight, and I'm not what you'd call "obese". I think Diabetes 2 has a lot to do with genetics. My grandmother had it, my mom has it, and I have it. All I do is eat with portion control in mind, don't drink soda pop, monitor my BG levels through the day, and take the appropriate amount of insulin. (I'm on two types of insulin -- a long-acting and a short-acting. And of course Metformin.) So far I have not experienced any "bad" effects from either the meds or the Diabetes, but I expect I'll be on the meds the rest of my life.

My DH was diagnosed with type 2 about 4.5 years ago.
I can tell you what has worked/working for him.

We switched to a Primal/Paleo (Low carb/high fat, no sugar/grains/prossessed foods)
This actually normalized his sugar levels for quite some time. to the point where the doctors were getting pretty annoyed LOL..
All good...

However he quite smoking (1-2 packs a day) almost 2 years ago.. we believe this was a trigger as about 6 months later his blood sugar started spiking again. . Couldn't seem to get it under control until eventually it got high enough that he decided to see the Dr. again who put him on Metiformin... (sp?) which had some effect ob his blood sugar although still higher than he would have liked. that lasted a couple months where he kept feeling more & more cruddy. sore all over, joints aching all the time, depression etc. Dr switched to another type of metiformin which made him feel even worse and shot his sugar levels all over the place. after less than a week he quite taking any of their meds , within 24 hours he was feeling much better.. turns out the metiformin was causing all sorts of side effects, most of which he dident even realize untill he got off them.

Blood sugar dropped down a bit & leveled out once off the Metiformin although still to high.. Controlling with diet as before but still couldent get it properly under control

Had a bit of a prayer session asking God to give me some direction & ran across Doug Kauffman's videos on the Fungal link to Diabeties ( among other things)

OK... made sense so I figured,, lets treat this as if its a Fungal/Candida problem.

Tightened up the diet a bit (dident have to make many changes as we already eat a diet that omits almost all the possible issue foods etc)

And started supplementing with Olive Leaf oil & Oregano oil (Both natural antifungals) plus a few other things,

I'm happy to report that we have seen a dramatic drop in his levels in the last 2 weeks since we started, to where they are reading all in the normal to slightly elevated ranges now and steadily continuing to trend towards normal levels on his fancy wee graphy thing. Also dramatic increase in energy, and eradication of athletes foot that hes always had an issue with & a few other things. Depression issues are also lessening.

Looking back I suspect that the smoking (While obviously bad) was working as a fungal inhibitor & when he stopped it allowed the fungal issues to then take over. Once it got out of control, even the diet wasen't enough to hold it in check.

I will be doing some rotations with treatments to continue to work on dealing with this from a fungal issue aspect so will update as it goes on.

I really like your post. I switched to a high protein diet and eat leafy greem vegetable. And take Eleotine. Blood sugars levels can be stubborn....with time it will begin to go down. Once you break thru the wall...it will stay at the new lower level...until the cell resistance break down. And so on. Fasting helps lower cell resistance. Starve the cells of sugars long enough....it will begin to operate at the new level. Also good spiritually.

Looking at it as a possible Fungal issue would explain why many people who switch to a low carb diet are able to manage their blood sugar levels without meds since Low carb would tend to cut out most of the foods that feed fungus/candida in the body.

Unfortunately sometimes its so strongly established that it needs something more drastic to kill it off which I believe is what my DH was dealing with.

From what I have read on these forums Catholics and Pentecostalists have greatest array of healing miracles happening all the time so you might think about converting.

Alas your chances of healing miracle seem to decrease by your proximity to civilization so relocation to Brazilian or Papua New Guinean jungles in accordance to the latest testimonies would be a contributing factor.

Live in such a way that God would heal or modify your disease so that it does not pre occupy you too much from working on yourself until you hear God within. The world tend to distract us from doing what God want us to do. Diseases, accidents, afflictions are not just the consequences of our thoughts words and actions...they are also there to remind us to get back to work and do whatever it takes. Refusal to heed the message leads to worse diseases afflictions until the grave takes us. We can can choose to repent and learn from our mistakes and live or continue in our errors and die miserably. Everything in the Universe is governed by Spiritual laws God gave us all the laws we need to know until the hidden manna is given to us. (Rev) along with the white stone (Urim) and a New Name.

Based on scientific evidence, Ayuredic at best "manages" diabetes but I can find no double blind scientific studies that show it can cure it. http://www.jmnn.org/article.asp?iss...ume=4;issue=2;spage=63;epage=69;aulast=Sharma
I guess it depends how far down the line the diabetes has gone, whether the symptoms can be expected to diminish, if only borderline in the first place.

I myself am diabetic, and have been for a few years; I wasn't on meds, however, until more recently.

(Good to see you on the forums again! :) )

Totally Forgot about this thread,
have done more research over the last couple years and after reading enough stuff to make my brain exsplode into a gooey mess...
I highly recomend anyone diabetic and/or struggling with weight (among a list of other things) to go look up Dr. Jason Fung and listen to what he has to say. (Or you can get his books but he makes all the info avalible online for free) and also Dr. Ken Berry.
Weve been eating a low carb, palio/primal diet for a long time now but after researching Fungs info, about 4 months ago we tweaked it to keto (not a huge change for us, just lower carb/higher fat) combined with intermittent fasting and since then DH’s blood sugar went from high normal (was low enough he wasent diabetic any more but its still been higher than optimal) to now perfect-spot on normal levels. And ive lost 35lbs without even trying (and 5 inches off my waist) feeling better, more energy and .. oh yeah.. costing me a ton of money cause none of my clothes fit anymore:confused:

I can tell you what I did. I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in April of this year.

I exercise and changed my diet an all plant-based diet. No meat, no dairy, obsolutely no oils, and as little fat as possible. I never worried about avoiding sugar as I took that as a symptom, rather than a cause. I never took a single pill of medication and lowered my A1c from 7.9 to 5.4 in 3 months.

As of right now, my dietary changes have become second nature (meaning I don't miss or crave bacon cheeseburgers) and I have zero side effects of the diabetes, as in no more tingling or numbness.

As far as I'm concerned, I'm done with diabetes.

Consult with your doctor on the benefits of fasting and your insulin resistance and also research yourself as doctors generally will just throw tablets and insulin at you.

If that’s all your doctor does, then you need a new one. Most I know want you to get educated and learn how your body deals with this disease and lifestyle changes.

I had gestational Diabetes in two of my four pregnancies. I had this is my first two but not in my last two. My doctors were flood and could not explain why but that vidio did. I lower my fat and simple sugars consuming only good fat and complex carbohydrates. I also started exercising but I exercise more now. Back then I just walked.

I eat that diet even today because my risk of diabetes is still there. I also keep my weight down and exercise five days a week. So far that diabetes has not shown up.
