  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Proverbs 3:24 When you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet (NIV)

I used to be an assistant manager at a Wendy’s. I did that for about a year. One night we were finishing up and about to walk out of the restaurant after close. One of my employees was going on and on about how she was going to go home, crawl into bed and then just stare at the ceiling. Because of all the trouble in her life, she would not be able to go to sleep when she went to bed. Even though it was almost 2:00 in the morning, the troubles in her life would keep her awake. What about you? Do the problems and troubles in your life keep you awake? Solomon gives us the answer for being able to turn our brains off so we can enjoy a good night’s rest. Read below and let’s take apart this passage to see how we can have sweet sleep.
