I have always liked the style of bands like Marilyn Manson and Nine Inch Nails but never really appreciated the lyrics of many of their songs.

Before I come under fire, please note that this is not because I would label tham as somehow evil or that I find them offensive, it is simply because I find them very hard to relate to, and kind of depressing.

If you guys could recommend any good christian industrial bands, that would be great. So far, I've only heard of Argyle Park.

There aren't a whole lot of Christian Industrial bands that are actually good.

Circle of Dust was probably the best. Skillet's Alien Youth album was pretty synth heavy... however, quality industrial is hard enough to find without having to add the Christian stipulation.

Never heard of Skillet's Alien Youth album, I might check that out.

Thanks for responding, good industrial is indeed a pain to find.

Autumn's Descent
Aleixa
Under Midnight
Null Factor
Time's Arrow
Torn Skin
Audio Paradox
Cult of Jester
Voxis (like the whole Circle of Dust/Celldweller thing, now operates as Blue Stahli)

Concerning Autumn's Descent, they even just released a new album consisting of re-recorded material from Prelude - their 'debut', I guess, EP - and Deadletters - their first album, along with some secondary material. Honestly, I prefer the original versions, but as Deadletters has been out of print for years and Prelude is even more impossible to find, it's probably as good as the new fans will get*. "Disillusioned", "Burden", "So Have I", and the title track are definite highlights on Deadletters; "Disillusioned" was actually featured briefly in a scene and the soundtrack of one of ABC Family's teen movies (under its alternate radio title, "Through My Eyes" - it's also a shorter edit than on Deadletters), which I couldn't really believe, but hey.

*although there are some remaining copies of Deadletters the band found and put up on CDBaby; you can also find the posting on Amazon's Marketplace. I got my copy through ChristianDiscs.com in 2007 (which now seems to have gone out of business or something), before that batch of CDs were found. I missed the opportunity to buy the album through iTunes, as it was pulled from there sometime in '06 I believe, although I had bought one of the tracks.

You could probably even count some of Dead Artist Syndrome's and The Awakening's output as well, even though both are primarily Goth bands. With Dead Artist Syndrome, you have songs like "Obsexxed" and "Christian America" that have some big industrial overtones, with The Awakening it's more subtle ("One More Crucifixion", "The Sedative", "Arrow", and "Descent" are perhaps more obvious about that, though).

There's also Goth-Industrial (Darkwave, elektro-goth, take your pick of labels, really) and Dark Synthpop acts worth mentioning also. The Last Dance (especially the version of "Flesh" and "Mystery" from Staring At The Sky, "Nightmares", "Once Beautiful", "Lost", "Parade", and their cover of "Dead Man's Party", amongst many others), ThouShaltNot ("The Ocean Is Your Voice", "G.L.M.", "100 Generations", "If I Only Were A Goth"), Monolithic ("The Sound Of Tears"), The Echoing Green, etc.

All those bands can be heard on ChristianIndustrial.net's streaming radio station, and Flaming Fish Music has several of those up for download in their Releases section as well (and yes, that Cult of Jester CD has a cover of The Sisters Of Mercy's "Lucretia My Reflection" - quite a solid cover too, IMO).

On the topic of Skillet, seconding the Alien Youth recommendation. Invincible (their third album, the one immediately preceding Alien Youth) is good too, but it's not nearly as abrasive. The two best tracks on it IMO are probably "You Take My Rights Away" and "Come On To The Future" - neither are anywhere as heavy as the stuff on Alien Youth, but it's still energetic. The same generally holds true to the stuff on Hey You, I Love Your Soul (their second album), like "Locked In A Cage" and "Deeper".

Torn Skin - That's the name of the band I meant - not Torn Flesh. Thanks

This site [I just found it]: firestreamvault dot com, can help in your search.
Here is the about us info on the sites:
Welcome to the Firestream Music Vault, the largest database of Christian Rock and Metal Albums on the internet. There are thousands of bands and albums in this system complete with ratings and comments by members. Most albums have lyrics and tablature available as well. The Firestream Music Vault is organized and kept up by a group of Vault Managers on a daily basis.
I have to have 50 posts on this site in order to post links, so that is why I put it as firestreamvault dot com

How can any of you not mention Racket and Drapes (Sure they've been called a MM knock-off and I personally I'm not a fan of their sound but hey, give them a shot too). I was gonna mention all the bands some of you mentioned but hey, you already mentioned them :p

Also take a listen to The Awakening, and perhaps even Saviour Machine (okay so they're far from industrial but as a fan and listener of goth rock and a bunch of other alternative Christian music to alternative Christian rock :p you can't not have a conservation without mentioning Saviour Machine, also try Brian "Head" Welch and his music (ex-guitarist of Korn and now born again believer).

One band comes to mind and I know this thread is probably dead, but here you go. If you like the sound of Marilyn Manson but not the lyrics, check out Rackets and Drapes. Their album Candyland probably comes the closest to MM as any Christian artist would ever get. They released a few but are no longer around.

Also, there is Alexia, Circle Of Dust (Older releases), Klank, GlobalWAVESystem, AP2, Level, Jagged Doctrine (One I Just Came Across), Deitiphobia (Their older stuff), Midnight Orchestra, Juggernautz, Chatterbox, and there are more out there but hope this helps

Also, if you cannot find Rackets and Drapes albums to purchase because some of them may be OOP (Out Of Print) send me a PM and I can help ya

Oh goodness, a lot of this I haven't seen before.

I did recognize AP2 (Argyle Park2? I was told that once. No idea if that's what it means or not). Anyone know if their song "Heroin Hate" form Suspension of Disbelief was in the movie The Butterfly Effect? I heard that it was, but I can't find the movie anywhere to save my life.

I just googled the movies soundtrack listing and it is indeed listed as being on the soundtrack.

Unfortunately, there really aren't many Christian artists making the darker, more electronic genres of music anymore. Quite a pity.

One of my old favs, Chatterbox's Despite: Torque by CHATTERbOX - YouTube

Another is Audio Paradox's The Iniquity of Time: Audio Paradox - Time To Burn (lyrics) - YouTube

Caul's stuff is phenomenal. If you like dark ambient and atmospheric stuff. Unfortunately, I didn't find a complete album online anywhere, but here's a fun one from Light From Many Lamps: Caul "Thine is the Day, Thine is the Night/At Midnight I Arise To Give Thanks To Thee" - YouTube

Massivid's Brighblur was incredible. I particularly like the song Brightblur: Massivivid - BrightBlur - YouTube

Sanctum was a group of Christians who were really pushing the envelope. I don't much care for their theology sometimes, but their music is amazing. Here's a personal fav: "The Answer To His Riddle" - sometimes called {-} Sanctum - {-} (Album: Clarify) (Tribal, Industrial, Ambient) - YouTubehttp://youtu.be/ExE5c07Do5U

Skillet's 2nd through 4th Albums are Industrial Metal. That is the albums; Hey You I Love Your Soul, Invincible, and Alien Youth. Those are some of the best that Skillet put out in my opinion as well. Check them out they are great albums.

My own personal project, Delta-S, is still up and running (albeit with a long 7 year haitus!). I still consider the project industrial, even as it explores other genres. The goal of the project has always been about borrowing styles, sounds, experimentation, and other genres to suit the needs of emotional exploration and story-telling - that's the heart of what industrial is to me.

Industrial (especially with Christian messages) has died down quite a bit, but I assure you, the genre is still very much alive in the underground world!
