Well I just thought I would toss this around for discussion, it is my experience that something unusual is out there, what exactly it is I cannot say. I lean toward it being a natural, flesh and blood creature created by God. Though some say it is something other worldly. I heard unusual Primate sounds, they were very high pitched and extremely clear whoooooooop whooooooop sounds. It sounded very human, but out of the range for volume and clarity at the pitch they elevated to. The pitch climbed effortlessly and without any distortion at a volume not possible for humans without screaming. It was in response to my neighbor lighting off fireworks on the fourth of July 2013. They sounds moved around in the marsh in my back yard. This was around Midnight. 8 days later I heard the exact same individual, this time the whoooooooop was more of a questioning tone, like whoooooooeeeeeep? it repeated and then about 50-100 yards away a low response of whoooooo whooooo. I heard this as I lie awake in bed at 3:50am knowing my alarm clock was about to go off. I froze wanting to hear more, then I got out of bed and saw a sheriffs car shining a spot light in the direction I heard the sounds, it sat there for several minutes. I think the creatures were responding to the light shining as the police car was shining as he drove by, but something made him stop and shine it in my yard. Later I found out he was responding to a man down report. Perhaps he saw briefly what I had heard, because as these same sounds repeated on more time they moved off into the marsh. Since then I have been researching the area and recorded strange wood knocking and some other vocalizations that do not fit with local wildlife.

I post this just to see if any other Christians are experiencing anything like this, or simply to discuss what this could be.

I experienced hearing noises and behavior like that at my last family reunion in SE Kentucky.

^_^

Ok...seriously, now I live in Northern Idaho, where Bigfoot is apparently a big deal. The former owner of my house (A well-respected law enforcement officer and member of our church) said he's heard noises like you described in the forests here and he couldn't figure out what it was. He said it sent chills up his spine too. (I live in a remote area of the Bitterroot Mountains.) Other neighbors have heard screaming and whooping noises in the woods as well.

I am an avid hunter, so I am in the woods quite a bit (as my health allows anyway). I have made ground blinds in some pretty boogery areas and waited all day, dusk and dawn, sometimes walking through the woods in night to find a blood trail if I shoot something. I can say, I personally, have never heard or seen anything like that. However, Moose and elk can make some really awful noises during mating season, that if you didn't know what it was, it would make you wonder. They are awful sounding too. They don't scream....as far as I know, like a screech owl, but I could see how someone might mistake a moose grunt/wail for a sasquatch.

Now I'm not saying that's what it actually is, because Moose are only found in the NW and Bigfoot has been sighted all over the world....but apparently, there is something weird out there that has people scratching their heads. I wonder if someone really put some effort into it, (Equipped with thermal vision scopes) why haven't they found something yet? Then again, we've only explored how much of the ocean? It's very possible that there could be something we haven't found on land too.

But...I'll believe it when I see it.

I spent most of my life in the outdoors, have heard moose and elk, coyote and wolves, all kinds of owls, well this in nothing like that, it mostly would resemble a human with extraordinary vocal chords or a gibbon or something in that section of the zoo. But as far Idaho, well I would not be surprised if they are closer to you than you might think, listen for wood knocking when you first enter the woods, I mean a solid wood on wood pop. Also observe the surrounding forest for anything unusual in terms of wood structures that seem to have been purposefully built, branches being twisted and broken at 7 feet. Large piles of manure that resemble human manure, but much larger. Prints or impressions near water sources, look human but measure more than 14 inches, and the forefoot is about half as wide as the length so 14/7, 16/8, and so on.

I do not think that the creature is anything to worry about concerning faith in Christ, though some claim it might have a demonic or spiritual origin. It is a creature that leaves real prints, demonic beings do not do that to my knowledge, nor are known to steal chickens, processed deer, or smoking salmon, all of which these creatures are known to do. Perhaps the only caution is to not allow the obsession to know more to control your thoughts, that is what poses a problem with this mystery. Keeping it all in perspective. Some eyewitnesses have spent their entire lives trying to prove to themselves that what they saw or heard was real. You have to let it go and just accept that some things might be meant to remain a mystery. God is sort of in the habit of keeping a few things in that category, we have to know when to just say, amen.

If you're unfamiliar with the Bigfoot Cam on Animal Planet Live, enjoy: http://www.apl.tv/bigfoot.htm! :)

I can't deny it. I'm into all that stuff. Love those shows on scifi channel etc.(destination truth was totally funny and interesting!)
I also think there are so many creatures out there most of us haven't encountered yet. Unknown species. Yeah...there's always a 50/50 chance that those noises came from some primate creature in the woods.

I'm guilty of peeking in on the Animal Planet Live webcams--especially those showing recognizable furry/feathered creatures. Admittedly, I watch the Bigfoot cam because I find the nature scene calming and I like to see what the weather's doing in that part of the U.S. (We guesstimate that it's posted in the Appalachian Mountain region.)

Once when I was watching the cam to view a rather heavy snowfall, my husband said, "One of these times you'll be watching for the snow and Bigfoot will go strolling by." :D My theory, though, is that Bigfoot-type creatures, if they exist, are rather savvy and always will avoid appearing on camera.
