Hi, I just returned to the Lord about a month ago. My granddaughter wanted a Bible so my wife bought her a Life Application Study Bible for Girls (she's 15 yo).
I bought myself a Life Application Study Bible (not knowing that's the same kind my granddaughter got). I bought it because it was highly recommended and I love it. I bought some of those stick on tabs for it and carefully put them on. I bought the second most expensive. The only difference between the most expensive and this one is the cover. One is leather-like and the other leather.
I wound up loving it so much I mentioned to my wife that I was sorry I had saved $10 and gotten the cheaper cover. She mentioned that you can't have too many Bibles. Her mother didn't leave her a Bible. I looked up and there were tears in her eyes.
So I bought the second Bible. Same brand, I love my Life Application Study Bible, but in leather. When I bought the stick on tabs I thought, "Hey, get two of those, they are only $5".
Of course I thought, "Why? Both my Bibles have tabs." I was thinking that was just a random thought.
Later I saw my granddaughter carrying around her Bible. My wife told me she is never without it. I asked to see it and saw that it's Life Application. She had a bunch of curled up sticky notes in it. I uncurled them and they said, "Matthew", "Mark", "Luke", etc handwritten.
"Those are so handy for finding a verse I want." she said.
"...Hey, get two of those. They are only $5" came ringing back through my mind, along with the gentle chuckle of the Holy Spirit that I had ignored.
"Told 'ja so." came that voice. I don't know if it was the Holy Spirit making fun of me but hey... looks like I have to make a trip to the store to pick up those $5 tabs.
It would be nice if they Holy Spirit would IDENTIFY Himself when he gives me hints.
