Pray for Dasilve Sondakh, Pastor of a Closed Church
The Indonesia Pentecostal “Agape” Church in Surabaya, Indonesia, was closed on Nov. 8, 2015, after neighbors told the city’s mayor that the church did not have permission from the neighborhood to operate as a church. According to Indonesian law, churches must obtain permission from 60 percent of the neighbors to operate. Pastor Dasilve Sondakh told VOM workers that the church’s building permit has been revoked; the church was founded in 2008. The approximately 200 church members are now worshiping at the nearby Central Pentecostal Church.

Pray for Christians Teaching Children
Every week, members of a children’s ministry travel to different parts of Pakistan to conduct camps and Bible clubs. They engage children through songs and games and teach Christian values and Bible lessons. Many of the children who attend these programs are Muslims. Members of this VOM-partner organization have received threats. Pray for the members of this team as they travel, perform outreach, distribute literature and equip local churches to disciple children.

Pray for Family of Godana, Killed During Church Attacks
Pray for the family of Godana, who was killed on Aug. 30 in a Sunday afternoon attack on his church in Ethiopia. Attackers assaulted a woman outside the church and continued their attack on other Christians, including 55-year-old church elder Godana, who had rushed out to help the woman. Godana was dragged back inside the church and hacked to death with machetes. Godana, who was his family’s sole provider, leaves behind a wife and eight children. The attackers returned on Sept. 1 and Sept. 27, leaving many more Christians wounded and traumatized.
