I have that and his bio of Elder Joseph. Both are amazing. And having been to three of his monasteries and having met him, I can say let the haters hate. They hated St Nektarios too
I hope to read all of those someday.
Interesting you should say that. I will add something. When I finally found someone willing to act as a guide for me in these things, I looked him up online. And I found some things written that were very critical. I almost had second thoughts about accepting his help. But I decided (since I'd been trying to find someone, unsuccessfully, and I was seriously in need of guidance) to give it a try and reserve judgement for a while.
I'm glad I did. While I love my parish priest, and his guidance is invaluable, for more difficult issues I have found Fr. C to be wonderful in helping me see the balance between humility and holiness to aim for in trying to walk through these things that are more difficult for me, as well as knowing when to pull back, when to push me forward, and - I could go on and on. He's great, and I have yet to meet the man in person.
But I was troubled when I read the criticism online, and I found nowhere at all that he ever tried to defend himself or his reputation, or explain anything.
I thank God that I didn't let that stop me though. I'm sure I'd be in a very different place spiritually right now, and probably it would spilled into other areas of my life that have been difficult in the meantime. But thank God that has not happened.
I think you're right. "Haters gonna hate."
