... and I did nothing because I had a copy of my birth certificate

Then Donald Trump came for the Hispanics and I did nothing because I was not Hispanic

Then Donald Trump came for the blacks and I did nothing because I was not black.

Then Donal Trump came for the Muslims but I did nothing because I was not a Muslim.

....to be continued until Trump comes for everyone...

I think we just might see an impressive display of unity in coming weeks by Americans or all political stripes against Mr. Trump. I don't know a single person who actually likes him as a President, and as I see more of him and he continues to grow more unhinged and say more ridiculous things, I have to conclude that he is the worst candidate in the running for the office. We can talk about policies of this candidate or that candidate that we like or don't like, but at least Clinton, Bush, Carson, Rubio, Sanders, etc are capable of putting their egos in the back burner in the name of diplomacy. I'm not convinced that Mr Trump is.

I disagree about Clinton. She doesn't spew the same vitriol as Trump [Then again, who does?] but out of all of them, she comes off as being entitled.

Who knew Trump had so much power considering he's not in office. I mean, he still didn't get the republican nomination, but have at it.

[/QUOTE]

What ?

Trump didn't smear Obama for years over a birth certificate ?

He doesn't want to build a wall with a "big beautiful door" to keep out the "mostly bad characters" Mexico is sending us an then had a Hispanic reporter physically remove from a speech he was given because he didn't like the questions the reporter was asking ?

He didn't urge on a crowd of his supports to kick a black man to the floor and demand that he be "thrown out" and then justify it during a press conference by saying the man deserved to be "roughed up" ?

He isn't saying the Muslims should be have to register with the government and wear a patch on their cloths so we know who they are ?

The man is espousing fascism. This is not something I would have said before last weekend.

But he is not doing it.

And to roaring, supportive crowds.

But the guy is now officially over the line.

He can ask, want, promise all he wants. He hasn't assumed the position of POTUS, which is what you make it sound like.

Yes, we need to wait until he's in office before we actually look at the what he actually stands for.

And you know, even if he's not in office he's actually having people physically assaulted for challenging him.

He's NEEDS to be pushed back against.

He got results on the Birth Certificate issue.

People have been calling for a border wall for at least 10 years. This isn't unique to Trump. Never heard about the reporter thing.

He didn't urge on a crowd of his supports to kick a black man to the floor and demand that he be "thrown out" and then justify it during a press conference by saying the man deserved to be "roughed up" ?

Not exactly what happened. Watch the video. The guy disrupted the rally, got confrontational with security, and was phisically removed.

He isn't saying the Muslims should be have to register with the government and wear a patch on their cloths so we know who they are ?

That was a concerning statement, though I didn't hear anything about a patch.

He strikes me more as an egotistical populist bully than an actual Roman Salute Fascist. But I can see the potential crossover.

We know where he stands on some issues and he has received flak for it. Why get into hysterics when he hasn't even gotten the republican nom.?

He's leading all the primary polls and is beating Hillary in one to one polling. I don't think he's out of the race yet.

The issue is that he has broad appeal to blue-collar workers and lower income white folks. These are the same demographic Jeb Bush is trying to appeal to. It's also the Democratic Party's base in Middle America, away from the Liberals on the coasts and the Blacks in the cities. The Tea Party types prefer Cruz, Paul, or Carson. The Religious Right is with Huckabee.

Basically, Trump isn't going to win or lose the primary based on having or not having support from the usual Republican base, except the business wing.

because he is being treated as a serious candidate, even on this board

Trump is a very dangerous candidate, in so many ways. Democrats have wanted Trump to win. Now, they don't even want a small chance of Trump winning.

And who do you think leads among Tea party types and evangelicals in Iowa?

Trump appeals to the basest of our instincts. This is seen in his anti-immigrant rhetoric. It is seen when he insists on personally seeing thousands of Americans cheering the tower falling on 911. And this can be seen in his knee jerk reactions against ISIS and refugees. He might win. Make no mistake; Trump stands for nothing but hate.

I am a Democrat. However I don't say this about the other Republican candidates. Some are incompetent; some are less so. At this point several might win a general election.

He's being treated as a serious candidate in so much that he still wants to get the nomination. But that still isn't saying much because he still hasn't gotten it. In fact, he's reeling as of late.

We are seeing some cracks in those backers. His immigration plan - on face value - reeks of xenophobia. However, he has elaborated further, and that's just more ammunition for the democrats and another wedge amongst supporters who want to deport everyone here illegally.

There are good Muslims, but we can't simply ignore the threat posed by the bad ones. There are a lot of people who deny that there is even such a thing as a bad Muslim. This is the No True Scotsman fallacy and a denial of reality. For example, in this video footage of the reaction of Palestinians to the attacks on 9/11/2001, the CNN reporter says that one of the ones celebrating said, "This is a sweet from Osama bin Laden." This video footage was broadcast live right after the attacks simultaneously by all of the major news networks including CNN, Fox News, and MSNBC:

The refugee crisis is a complicated issue that I think takes the wisdom of Solomon. Ultimately, I'm siding with Pope Francis on this despite the risk. With the liberals, when it comes to abortion and homosexuality, they always say that America is not a theocracy, and they tell our bishops to keep silent. But when it comes to one of their pet issues like capital punishment or immigration then suddenly they tell us we should listen to the Pope. If they want everyone to listen to the Pope on this issue they should be consistent and push for America to become a Catholic theocracy. I would support that. I would love it if America would put the Catholic bishops in charge of the government and base all of its laws on the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

What a load.
The video begins well after the altercation has started. It looks to me like people are defending themselves from an aggressive attacker. If I had to guess... this numskull came in behaving like a threatening idiot and got what he deserved.
