  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What is biblical Tithes? Who was it for? Why denominational churches asked for it when it was only practice during the old testament?
Some churches ask their members to give them ten percent of their income. They call this "Tithing".
There is no instruction in the Bible for Christians to tithe to their church. Christians are to be generous and help others in need, there is no set amount specified except in one case recorded in Matthew 19:21. Jesus told a man to sell everything he had and give it all to the poor. If you want to be perfect, give 100%, not merely 10%. Don't listen to church leaders who tell you that you have to give a certain amount of money to them. They usually are not in need anyway, since they have been taking money from people for years.
