My dog, Halle ('Hallelujah' is her full name), is bleeding from her right nostril. Her right eye is also a little bloodshot. Her breathing is noisy when she sleeps. I'm incredibly worried. Halle is the best dog I've ever had the honor to have... I adopted her two years ago... it feels like she adopted me instead...

She is 10-y/o and I want 10-15 more years with her... her regular vet is only available the day after tomorrow... she is still active and eating well so I feel it's safe to wait another day... I'm trying not to worry, but I get distressed whenever one of my dogs fall sick... esp. Halle, an incredibly affectionate and intelligent dog.

Please pray for Halle... please pray that it is not anything serious...

Please also pray for God to provide me with the means to foot her veterinary bills... I have three senior dogs... all of them have health problems... but, they are too sweet to let go of and I work very hard to feed them better than I feed myself...

My dogs are all I have...

Praying for your precious little Halle. Reading over these indicators to diagnose could it possibly be epistaxis?
Please do consider getting your dog to a veterinarian asap. The ear, nose, throat area are all interconnected of course. The bloodshot eye on that same side as the nostril bleed does appear to make it a linked issue. If you have a flashlight gently look into her nostril. She could have something lodged and the pressure of her blocked breathing on that side could be what's inflaming her eye. Please keep us updated as to her progress. God be with you little Halle. She's very cute. :)

Praying for you both. What an adorable picture. How could anybody not love that face! Puppies are wonderful, but I wish more people would consider adopting older dogs, so often neglected and overlooked, and they deserve to have their senior years filled with joy and comfort. They have so much to give in return.

I am definitely praying. We have always adopted older dogs that had smaller chances of getting a permanent home. Very satisfying to give the sick/abused 3 or 4 more yrs. of caring & love.

Praying for healing, wisdom for the vet, and financial relief for you.:pray:

I know she looks like one, but Halle is not a puppy... she's a 10-y/o pug/mini-pincher mix. Her muzzle is greying, if you looked closely...

Yes, she has an adorable and expressive face... we're extremely attached to each other. I walk her without a leash because she is so obedient and never leaves my side.

At the moment, she's behaving normally... active, eating voraciously. Bleeding seems to have subsided, but her breathing is still noisy when she sleeps. I'm bringing her to the vet tomorrow.

Thanks for your prayers... please continue to pray... I will keep you all updated.

P.S.: It is definitely epistaxis. The problem is what's causing it. I've tried using a torch to check out what's inside her nose, but can't see anything. Hopefully an X-ray is adequate to find out what's going on... hopefully she doesn't need a scope, but if it's necessary, I'll consent to it... she's too precious and I want her with me as long as possible.

:) It is a very good sign that she's ravenously hungry. When a pet stops eating that's worry time. I'm so happy to hear the bleeding stopped. Hows her eye?

 God's blessings continue for you both and all your other precious dogs. And I look forward to the update. Please give your precious Halle and all your pups a scratch for me. :) I love dogs and cats too. I've a few rescues of my own. Praise God for the open heart that gives refuge to the voiceless and the needy four pawed in this world.

P.S
I just have to ask the origin of your name? Dying Slowly?

I had a St. Bernard, just a loving marshmallow of a dog. He had bloody noses too---Developed around his 6th year. But they usually only live around 9 years . It was his heart--he developed high blood pressure. They were horrible--a dog that size you, can imagine. In his prime he was 200 lbs. no fat. When they hit, the blood would shoot out several feet, they would startle him and he'd have the most quizzical look on his face. They upset and confused him, and you never knew when they would hit. There are other reasons for nose bleeds, so your vet will have to figure it out. Praying they can treat this cheaply and that you will have much more time with her. Mine was 35 years ago and they didn't have the medicine they do nowadays for dogs.

i'm back from the vet and Halle's condition isn't serious... her sinuses are inflammed. She's now on antibiotics and might need to be put under general anaesthesia next week for a dental. I have to pay more attention to her teeth... I've been too tired to brush her teeth everyday, but I suppose I must do so from now on...

I'll be working on weekends to pay off her vet bills...

Yeshuas_My_Freedom, I have depression and often feel suicidal... Everyday, I feel that I am dying slowly... hence, my username... my real name is Hannah.

I am very grateful for all your prayers... I have no strength to pray and often need to rely on others to intercede... thank you and I hope some of you will continue to keep me in mind when you pray... life has been hard on me and I turn to my dogs for physical affection...

Thanks, everyone...

There are heart medications these days that are pretty good and can prolong the lives of our dogs... I have two other dogs on heart medications... one is 17-y/o, the other is old but I don't know his age (he was found wandering the streets). The bigger ones have shorter lives though... thanks for your prayers...

Hannah

Hello Hannah,

I am so happy to hear that Halle is improving with antibiotics. I have a elderly dog named Duke, and we recently had an eye infection scare. Once my dogs get over age 10, I start to worry that our time together is limited. When going through the health scare with Duke, I had many questions about how God sees animals, if they have souls and more. Have you heard of Christian writer Julia Harris-Parker? She is an animal lover whose written books that quote scripture about animals and pets, like pets having souls, going to heaven and more. I read one of her books, and it changed my life. You might want to check out her website petshavesouls.com. Please keep up updated on Halle. Halle is in my prayers.

Dear all,

Halle has had a couple of teeth extracted (she had an abscess above her right incisor pushing up against her right nasal cavity). She is doing well and breathing normally now. She's still a little drowsy from the anaesthesia and is sleeping snuggling against me.

Veterinary bills got me pretty depressed because it's more than my current monthly salary. I'm not working full-time now because of burn-out... (am an exhausted registered nurse)

I'm going to post a prayer request in another segment with regards to my financial situation...

KnowtheSpirit, thanks for the recommended read... I've always wondered if my dogs would be in Heaven with me... their lives are so short, but, I'd be more able to accept their passing on if I knew I could have them in Heaven with me. I lost my 17-y/o Schnauzer two years ago and always wonder where he is now. His ashes are by my bedside... and I know those ashes mean nothing, but I just miss him.

So glad to hear little Halle is doing better now.
Think of Go Fund Me.com for help with your finances for this. A picture of Hannah and her story could bring you the financial blessings you seek.

God is good. Bless you both.

Her name is Halle... my name is Hannah... I'm not from the USA... I'm not sure if Go Fund Me.com can apply to me...
I'm so silly. I edited my error.
