I don't believe he should've been working in a religious capacity after the ruling back in 2006!

Just read the ruling against him.

i must agree with your assessment. There is no rational way for Sproul Jr to claim ignorance --he's been raised in Presbyterian polity his entire life. It does seem that his root issue is a 'spirit' of sinful autonomy.

i am particularly concerned about the spiritual abuse of former members at St. Peters under Sproul's leadership.

The op isn't clear so I just want to say this isn't about Sproul, not really, it's about the lack of desire for godliness by believers. When Elders have a long history of lacking of self control they should step down willingly.

Sproul jr. "In August 2014, in a moment of weakness, pain, and from an unhealthy curiosity, I visited Ashley Madison. My goal was not to gather research for critical commentary, but to fan the flames of my imagination. There I found two gracious judgments. First, I felt the grace of fear. Second, I felt the grace of shame. I was there long enough to leave an old email address. And within minutes I left, never to return. I did not sign up for their service or interact with any clients. I have always remained faithful to my wife even after her passing."

Sin. We're all really screwed up and hopefully he repents. We're living in interesting times and I think God is cleaning house right now.

On a side note, I had a conversation with him once which made me want to smack my face off a wall.

Patheos is not a reliable source, but this whole thing should be looked at as a tragedy, not some big joke. The pastor for my old church was on that list and he had to resign. He was a good man and I refuse to mentally retcon him out of existence like Christian society likes to do. And when we do that it just gives the so-called "anti-theists" more fuel to mock us.
Our modern church era is demonstrating a lot of "Easy Believism". The flip-side is a lot of rigid thinkers who forget that real repentance is an ongoing process.

Yeah, there is this idea that pastors are infallible. I think the problem with that is that if they make one big mistake like adultery, they're out, but something non-sexual but still bad, like losing your temper or being bossy, gets glossed over since there is this idea that authority is infallible.

You can go to Walmart and pay cash for a card and use the card to join some websites. Silly how people use credit cards with full names in such sites

I heard the other day that many of the famous people named as clients, including pastors, didn't check out. It seems the names on the accounts at AM are different from the names on the credit cards. Adulterers and liars.

In my area of the US, we had two Reformed pastors, one an OPC, the other an RPCNA who got caught up in scandals. The RPCNA case was bad, it involved child inappropriate contentography...he used the church computer. The really bad thing about this person was that he also taught at the local Christian school.

However, unlike many Christian groups i could name, these men are no longer in ministry and will not be shuffled off to another unsuspecting congregation to cause more trouble. The denominations they belonged to took immediate and decisive action.

Where is our compassion for Sproul Jr?
And all the families of those many ministers of God who's actions were brought to light just as scripture promises. What is done in the dark shall come into the light.

A website dedicated to promotion of adultery. Do we think this is the only one? Or is it just that this is the only one to make headlines because it was hacked?

Imagine how many innocent people are affected by this now. Very sad.
