As it is the revelation (Greek: apokalypsis) which God gave St. John of Patmos to write down for the seven churches in Asia.

And I'm plenty familiar with St. John's Apocalypse, but since I don't subscribe to wild-eyed futurist interpretations of the text I'll wager we'll have little to discuss as pertains to the meaning of the text.

However when they discovered that the local non-discrimination laws meant they would need to provide services to same sex couples, they decided to sue the city, instead of just changing their business registration to being a religious organization.

That's why the persecuted church meets in secret aka underground because they no longer follow or comply with the rules set up by the government. Usually the laws include terms of "you are not allowed to be Christian".
