I believe that those dates given up there are complete and utter bogus. The person leading this whole thing twists scripture around a lot. She also, uses a clear bible METAPHOR to support her claims. Which is crazy. She also supports this Idea of an asteroid, and a pandemic, and a financial crash, and a tsunami, and an earthquake and a rapture. To happen on one day also. She mainly supports the asteroid theory which has been debunked by NASA and Asteroid watch and amateur astronomers alike. She also uses the "blood moons" (which actually look yellow to me) to support her theory. Which, is complete and utter bogus, the blood moon on that day wont even last more than an hour. Just look up "Blood moons theory debunked" on youtube, it's too much to explain in typing. So what do you guys think?
NASA is involved in this. The Church age is two days or 2000 years. The problem is to know when the church began, although as far as we know the beginning was on the day of Pentecost when Peter was preaching in the upper room.

At first people thought the rapture would take place 2000 years from when Jesus was born. Now some suggest we should count 2000 years from when the church was born. If that day comes and goes I wonder what people will say.

If not even the Son himself, JESUS, knows when the end will happen, how will we?
I am 100% confident this is, like you said, BOGUS! Let's review the "THE WORLD IS ENDING" dates in the past 15 years, shall we?

-1/1/00
-6/6/06
-5/21/11
-10/21/11
-12/21/12

I sure have survived a lot of apocalypses!
I should make novelty shirts. "I survived the (n)th apocalypse!"

Let's be clear on something here. This is parents taking their children out of schooling and teaching them nothing about the world beyond the bible for over a decade. Now that the rapture isn't coming as planned, these children are educationally stunted in a way that essentially guarantees that their transition into useful members of society is delayed or destroyed. This is not some minor issue. And it's also not an isolated incident. Remember all the people who sold their homes and abandoned their families over the rapture that was supposedly coming on May 21st, 2011? If you spend a moment to look, you can find quite a few stories like this.
Nonsense. I do not always agree with homeschooling but they tend to test out better on the required material then regular high school students.

Not if they spent the last decade singing songs instead of doing the required material, they don't.

You don't understand how home schooling works. All high school students are required to take a test to be qualified to graduate. At least in this state and most all the other states as far as I know. That is why we can fight about evolution in the court system to determine if the board of education is doing their job in the material that they will be testing the students on.

There is no ban on teaching material not on the test. It is simply not required to get a high school degree. My son is is taking collage classes in high school.

Simple. The rapture happened and they weren't raptured. ;)

That would be a fine irony: the rapture has in fact already happened but no one was good enough to get into Heaven.

I tend to think the rapture will happen during a time of world war when so many people are killed that few people will notice that the church is gone. If we were in the tribulation then the saints would be myrtered for their faith. Isis is killing a few now but you will see a lot more of that then.

I'm sure that many homeschoolers get a very good, comprehensive education, tailored to their individual needs.

We're not talking about those children.

I am talking about all high school graduates take the same test required by the state. So all high school graduates meet the same basic requirements. Whatever they study or learn above and beyond the basics does not matter. For example there is no law against creationism it is just not required to be taught.

You misunderstand. My comments were specifically directed to those children who were taken out of public school for "homeschooling" that was very explicitly not an education in any sense.

Then they are NOT high school graduates. Even a few states allow non accredited colleges and that is a disaster. Most schools have to be accredited to be qualified for foreign students. The amish people are like that big time. They only get an 8th grade education because they do not want their children ruined by the educational system.

If you made them with velcro so you can change the dates, that's a million dollar idea.
Actually, if you made "The World is Ending on (insert date)" t-shirts with velcro for a changeable date, you could sell them to the doom merchants for reuse with every new Apocalyptic flap that comes along, too. Now it's a multi-million dollar idea!

Have they thought of just not setting a date? Or believing in "the Rapture"? They could just, you know, live in such a way it doesn't really matter when He comes back, they're ready everyday?

My son-in-law has a tradition of taking the kids out for ice cream the day after an apocalypse was supposed to happen. Gives the kids something to look forward to! ;)
tulc(usually just waits for one of the predictors to come back to a CF thread and apologize, so far it's never happened) :sigh:

The date I have set is pretty close to my 80 th birthday. So If I am wrong and there is no rapture then maybe I will live to be 85. You can never know for sure. Also I believe that one third of mankind will be destroyed at that time, so that you may not even realize that the true church is gone. Exp considering that no one want to acknowledge that the true church even exists in the first place. So sense they do not believe the true church exists then how are they going to know when it is gone?

"True church" is a difficult concept for us non believers to take seriously. Given that most varieties of Christianity have almost the exact same source material, but have varied interpretations of it. It would take a lot more then self assuredness and ernestness to convince me that one in particular is the right one.

Even Christians are told to let the wheat and tares grow together. Least you pull out the wheat trying to weed out the tares. Matt 13:30 'Allow both to grow together until the harvest; and in the time of the harvest I will say to the reapers, "First gather up the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them up; but gather the wheat into my barn."
