Donald Trump's lawyer goes nuts on reporters for writing a controversial story about Trump and his ex-wife | Business Insider

The Daily Beast reported that Ivana Trump later clarified that she didn't mean the term in a "a literal or criminal sense," but rather in an emotional sense.
...
“You write a story that has Mr. Trump’s name in it, with the word rape, and I’m going to mess your life up… for as long as you’re on this frickin’ planet… you’re going to have judgments against you, so much money, you’ll never know how to get out from underneath it,” he added.

Looks like Trump's lawyer has become the story. Newsweek already put itself out of business so perhaps this is their way of seeing if they can take down the Daily Beast as well.

Wow, Trump is already worse with the press than Obama is.
Yeah, I was thinking this looked pretty bad ... until you mentioned Obama's dealings with the press.

Thanks for adding perspective.
Yeah sure, lets make this guy president. I'm sure his administration will be as transparent as Obamas has been.
He's already looking more transparent than Obama to me. ;)

Most diehard Obama supporters think he's transparent too.

Or Clinton's ... Have you been sexually harassed by Bill Clinton? | WND

Bill Clinton sexual-harassment accuser Kathleen Willey has launched an anti-Hillary Clinton website titled: "A Scandal A Day".
...
While serving as a volunteer in the White House and facing financial hard times, Willey says she met with Bill Clinton in the Oval Office to request a paying position. But instead of getting help, she says, she was subjected to "nothing short of serious sexual harassment."
...
Willey also claims the Clinton tag team was behind a string of events that can only be described as a mob-style intimidation campaign to keep her silent. It even included breaking into her home to steal her memoirs of the events.

It actually looks more like the attorney doesn't care if it is libel at all, if it hurts the reputation Mr. Trump.
Noting that the attorney focused almost exclusively on the use of the word "rape".

The ex-wife was born in a foreign country (Czechoslovakia,) and English was not her first language. I know enough people like that who use the wrong word often! She admitted it was not the right word, but that in her feelings it seemed to resemble that.

To take a poor choice of words, and elevate that to a criminal charge is libel. There was not a rape. There should not be a false claim that there was!

It did not seem that they were claiming that there was rape, but mentioning that was what she called it, even if she then clarified what she meant. It's only libel if you are claiming something knowingly false or acting with a reckless disregard for the truth.

Your defense is misunderstood communication. Do you have the exact quote, or audio?

Now, when I heard of this many years ago, Kathleen Willey indicated this was more a case of rape. Let us turn that on the Clintons. Hillary was in charge of "Bimbo Eruptions," so let us place the weight of covering up a rape by her husband into the discussion. Read what Mrs. Willey said about how she was treated by the Clinton machine. This is what Hillary is all about - making sure women who may have an accusation about her husband were "Destroyed!"

Let's NOT allow a poor choice of English words become a destructive tool against a presidential candidate. This was said by a foreign-born woman, who speaks acceptable English in most cases, whose most famous quote is, "Gorgeous hair is the best revenge."
=======
Edit:
Please excuse my aging memory concerning twenty-year-old info... My comment was about a different accusation than what I indicated had come from Kathleen Willey.

It was in a recent interview that Juanita Broaddrick revealed how (21 years ago) she did not tell authorities of her contention that Bill Clinton sexually assaulted her because "I just don't think anyone would have believed me." That is when Clinton allegedly was leaving her, bloodied and raped, and told her she should put some ice on that swollen lip!!!

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/politics/special/clinton/stories/broaddrick022599.htm

It is well known, as we hear radio advertisements where someone is doing impressions of recent past presidents, and the "Clinton" persona tells someone that he had hit with a golf drive, "Put some ice on it..."

Again, sorry for mixing up the names. So many Clinton victims, it is easy to mix up the names and details. o_O
