Isaiah is being read now by Chapter a Day

Isaiah Chapter 1
Isaiah was a Prophet living in the Kingdom of Judah.

The Kings of Judah during his lifetime included Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz and Hezekiah.

Isaiah prophesies that a very bad future awaits Jerusalem and the Kingdom of Judah if they turn away from worshipping God and instead turn to the worship of false idols.

Isaiah Chapter 2
This chapter talks about the time in the future when God will rule the earth we call that the second coming.

Isaiah Chapter 3
In this chapter Isaiah warns to the bad future that awaits the Kingdom of Judah if they do not turn from their evil ways. Isaiah particularly warns about women of disrepute wearing flashy clothes and bells on chains around their ankles.

Isaiah Chapter 4
This chapter talks about the future and building a new Jerusalem on Mount Zion.

Isaiah Chapter 5
Jerusalem is pictured as a beautiful vineyard that God had created for the Jews, but because the Jews worshipped other Gods the vineyard would be destroyed.

Isaiah Chapter 6v1
I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.
Isaiah has a vision of the Lord in the temple. Isaiah is given a commission to warn the Jews of the punishment to come if the dont stop worshipping idols.

Isaiah Chapter 7v14
Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
In Chapter 7 the Messiah's birth is foretold by Isaiah.

Isaiah Chapter 8
Isaiah foretells of the rise of the Kingdom of Assyria. The Assyrian Empire will expand and dominate the region.

Isaiah Chapter 9 verses 6-7
6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgement and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.

Isaiah foretells of the birth of the Messiah in Chapter 9.

Isaiah Chapter 10
Isaiah foretells that the Assyrians will oppress the Jews for a while but that eventually the Assyrian Empire will itself be destroyed by an invading army.

Isaiah Chapter 11
Isaiah foretells that from the family of Jesse will come a great leader to rule the earth.

Isaiah Chapter 12
Isaiah says that when the great leader comes people will praise God.

Isaiah Chapter 13
Isaiah foretells that Babylon will be punished for the way they treated the Jews.

Isaiah Chapter 14
Isaiah foretells that Israel will be restored.

Isaiah Chapter 15
Isaiah foretells of the destruction of the land of Moab.

Isaiah Chapter 16
Isaiah tells us more about the destruction of Moab.

Isaiah Chapter 17
Isaiah tells us that a great destruction will occur in Damascus.

Isaiah Chapter 18
Isaiah tells us about the destruction that will occur in Ethiopia.

Isaiah Chapter 19
Isaiah tells us about the destruction that will occur in Egypt.

Isaiah Chapter 20
Isaiah tells us Assyria will enslave Egypt and Ethiopia.

Isaiah Chapter 21
Isaiah tells us about the destruction of Babylon.

Isaiah Chapter 22
Isaiah tells us about the invasion of Judah.

Isaiah Chapter 23
Isaiah makes a prophecy againt Tyre.

Isaiah Chapter 24
Isaiah tells us about how the world will be punished.

Isaiah Chapter 25
Isaiah writes of song of praise to God.

Isaiah Chapter 26
Isaiah writes of song of trust to God.

Isaiah Chapter 27
Isaiah tells us about how the sea monster leviathan will be punished.

Isaiah Chapter 28
Isaiah tells us about how Ephraim will be punished in verse one.

A corner stone in Zion
Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.
Isaiah 28v17

Isaiah Chapter 29
Isaiah tells us about how the city of Ariel will be punished.

Isaiah Chapter 30
Isaiah tells us about how rebellious children will be punished verse one.

But God will show mercy to Judah
For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem: thou shalt weep no more: he will be very gracious unto thee at the voice of thy cry; when he shall hear it, he will answer thee.
Isaiah 30v19

Isaiah Chapter 31
Isaiah tells us about how those who go to Egypt for help will be punished in verse one.

Isaiah Chapter 32
Isaiah tells us about a righteous king.

Isaiah Chapter 33
Isaiah tells us about God's judgement on Zion.

Isaiah Chapter 34
Isaiah tells us about God's judgement on the armies of the world.

Isaiah Chapter 35
Isaiah tells us about how the desert shall blossom like a rose verse 1.
Sorrow shall flee away verse 10.

Isaiah Chapter 36
The Assyrian army invades Judah and demands that Hezekiah surrender.

Isaiah Chapter 37
The Angel of the Lord smote the Assyrian army 185,000 killed by the Angel.

The King of Assyria returns home in disgrace and is murdered by his own sons.

Isaiah Chapter 38
God adds 15 years to the life of Hezekiah.

Isaiah Chapter 39
Hezekiah shows visitors from Babylon all the treasures of Jerusalem.
Isaiah warns that his actions will encourage invaders from Babylon.
The Jews will be taken into captivity because of his foolishness.

Isaiah Chapter 40
Isaiah tells us that all flesh is grass verse 6.

31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.(Isaiah 40v31)

Isaiah Chapter 41
Isaiah tells us that Israel is assured of God's help'

Isaiah Chapter 42
Isaiah tells us about God's chosen servant.

Isaiah Chapter 43
Isaiah tells us the Lord is the Saviour.

Isaiah Chapter 44
Isaiah tells us that God promises a blessing.

Isaiah Chapter 45
Isaiah tells us that God is creator and Lord.

Isaiah Chapter 46
Isaiah tells us that God saves his own.

Isaiah Chapter 47
Isaiah tells us about God's declared judgement upon Babylon.

Isaiah Chapter 48
Isaiah tells us that the Jews are the chosen people.

Isaiah Chapter 49
Isaiah tells us that the Jews are to be a light to the Gentiles.

Isaiah Chapter 50
Isaiah tells us to trust in the Lord.

Isaiah Chapter 51v11
Therefore the redeemed of the Lord shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away.

Isaiah Chapter 52v7
How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!

Isaiah Chapter 53v1
Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed?

Isaiah Chapter 53v5
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Isaiah Chapter 54
Isaiah tells us of God's conforting message.

Isaiah tells us to seek the Lord while he may be found.

Isaiah Chapter 56
Isaiah tells us that God's word is sure.

Isaiah Chapter 57
Isaiah tells us that God will revive the humble.

Isaiah Chapter 58
Isaiah tells us God's chosen fast.

Isaiah Chapter 59
Isaiah tells us that God will glorify Zion.

Isaiah Chapter 60 verses 1-2
Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.

Isaiah Chapter 61v3
To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.


Isaiah Chapter 62
Isaiah tells us that Zion is to be a light to the Gentiles.


Isaiah Chapter 63
Isaiah writes a song of praise to God.

Isaiah Chapter 64
Isaiah gives a warning to the unclean in heart.

Isaiah Chapter 65
Isaiah gives a warning to rebellious Jews.

Isaiah Chapter 59
Isaiah tells us that God will gather all the nations.
