The word became flesh in Jesus, therefore that which he preached is the holy word. Read your bible and you will find the truth in it.

But people have fallen for spurious claims of rank outsiders!

I know that Jesus is the Word of God but that is not my question. The words that Jesus spoke was spirit and life. We cannot understand anything that Jesus was really saying with our natural mind. After all the disciples couldn't even understand him and they lived with him. What is the Holy Spirit's job in helping us understand what exactly is the Word of God? The only way to know the spirit and the truth behind Jesus' words is by the Holy Spirit teaching us. The Gospel of Luke tells us some of the things that Jesus said. The Gospel of Thomas also says that Jesus said things. But the Spirit of God will show us the truth or lack there of in these words.

Unfortunately, many hardly read the four books of the Gospel.

Yes, same thing applies to all other writings.

What about the Gospel that Paul preached?

It is totally different than what Jesus was preaching.

I guess that he was aware of the skeleton of the Gospel that he might have heard from Peter when he stayed with him. He never mentions nor aware of the important aspects of Jesus' preaching!

Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to discern the truth and speak about Him. Therefore, all writings are to be held against the light of the Holy Spirit to interpret. Otherwise, it becomes personal interpretation of the words that can be added, deleted or mistranslated.
"ALL scripture is God breathed."

This means the "ENTIRE" Bible!

Much of what we see here is people minimizing the Word of God to rely on some spiritual revelations. The only revelation for the Bride --the Church, is the plain Word of God. Certainly God will also speak to individual believers to lead and encourage them, but He fully expects the saints to keep His Word (and not be changing words to get a more acceptable message). His Word will be opened in the Judgment and saints will be judged out of it, as God shows.
