    Bishops

Ok, here in SC we elected a Christian male priest to be Bishop. Now, he believes in the traditional faith, and he did not get consent from the rest of TEC. We had to re-elect him a second time and resubmit him as our candidate. On the second go around, we received consent from the national...

Who do you say that I am?

1,000 years? The Orthodox believe they are it, and have been around 2,000 years. Same with Rome. Same with the Coptics. Same with Anglicans who hold to this same sense of the Church. The problem is how can a group do something fundamentally different, and claim to be the same group?

Question about visiting a Rite I Liturgy

Subconciously? No - explicity. The Church did not MAKE Jesus divine, but we did confess it. And, without that confession in one voice - it could not be known or believed.

Question about visiting a Rite I Liturgy

We are much better off all Rite 1 or all Rite 2.

Question about visiting a Rite I Liturgy

NO - I don't think choice, which is great for secular government, is good for the Church.

Who do you say that I am?

I must be terrible at explaining things, because it is clear no one here really even understands the position I am putting forth. The point is not that the Holy Spirit does not act in other places, but rather that we cannot KNOW which voice is the Holy Spirit when there are so many conflicting...

    Godly Play

Well, it is good, but COGS is better. One of the guys who developes the works for GP is in a formation class with me, and he is a super fantastic guy. I do remain convinced that COGS is 10 times harder to implement, and 100 times better. Make sure you find a COGS training near you and attend...

Question about visiting a Rite I Liturgy

Ok, developed this idea, or show me where to read more and I will take an open mind. Otherwise, I think we are stuck with the model. My source for this position is John Behr's Way to Nicea series, also covered, but with less detail in his book, the Mystery of Christ: Life in Death.

Question about visiting a Rite I Liturgy

Which way of doing church came up with the Trinity, Jesus as fully man and fully God, the Bible, and the Nicean Creed?

Who do you say that I am?

Who do you say that I am? Although all had been reveled to them, no one, besides maybe Peter, got it until after the crucifixion. The Church community, in the light of the crucifixion, living the Eucharistic life came up with all the things we take for granted like the Trinity and the nature...

Question about visiting a Rite I Liturgy

It is not funny or to be taken lightly. I think there is much we can learn by listening to things the Church has proclaimed with one voice. I cannot for the life of me understand why people think this is such an laughable stance. It is gravely serious - at some point, our choice simply reveals...

Question about visiting a Rite I Liturgy

One of the problems we are facing is thinking that some criterion other than the unified voice of the church is how we are to decide what to do. We have confused the current popular criterion of our secular world, democracy, as a criterion for understanding the faith. Do we take a vote to see...
