I was born into a Christian family in 1980. I've always been the smart one of the family, but also lazy. So even though I would get A's on nearly all of my exams, my failure to do homework earned me a B average. My father had also taught me a little bit of computer programming at a young age, and in middle school and high school. I taught myself much more, and have always enjoyed it. I opted to go to a community college and major in computer science. I figured I could redeem my previous laziness and get into a better school.
So I did, I got a 3.5 GPA and got into UC Davis. But I enjoyed my physics courses at the community college so much that I changed my major to physics.
Fast forward to today, and I've received a Ph.D. in physics, and am currently working at my first postdoctoral research position, working in the field of cosmology.
