...Secondly, it's a good thing that we haven't destigmatized the attraction to child. There are societies that have.

Afghanistan for example, is one of those cultures that allows grown men to rape young boys. It's normalized. I'm pretty sure Iraq does too.

I don't want to live in a culture that accepts or normalizes those things and destigmatizing the attraction is the first step.

I have my doubts that all those people we brought here from Afghanistan are going to change their culture, especially now that we're so "inclusive" and "tolerant" here in the USA. So expect to live "in a culture that accepts or normalizes those things". Stigmatizing what they do will be referred to as discriminating against our Afghan brothers and sisters. Oh yeah, it'll be called hateful and bigoted for people to say anything about it as well.

Thank you for the correction. I made the appropriate change to alleviate confusion.

But there are conditions in which a male can have xx or even xxy and a female can have xy. But they are all clearly defined as either a " male" with XY chromosomes or a "female" with XX chromosomes.

Which makes us ask questions about those "conditions" -- as in "clearly defined" by whom?

So I still stick with my definition that a woman is someone with xx chromosomes and a vagina. Although I could include those born with xy chromosomes and a vagina as in the case of those with complete androgen insensitivity (CAIS). Regardless, they have a set definition based on biology...not by their self identification.

Interesting cases, to be sure.

Now, could you please tell me your definition of a woman?

Angelina Jolie in Tomb Raider -- now that's my definition of a "woman!" ;)
But seriously, folks...

My definition is not much different from yours, in fact -- with only a few minor differences.

For example, you say "based on biology," but then dismiss the chromosomal issues, which are very much a part of biology -- so I'm going to assume that by "biology," you're referring to physical characteristics.

In that regard, I agree -- except that physical characteristics can be changed. Furthermore, when we talk "biology," we have to include the brain -- not just the genitals -- in that category, and what role the brain (biologically speaking) plays in determining gender identity.

There are a lot of interesting studies:

Brain Sex Differences Related to Gender Identity Development: Genes or Hormones?

Research on the Transgender Brain: What You Should Know – Cleveland Clinic

Transgender brains are more like their desired gender from an early age

But long story short: the jury's still out.

Like in most other topics, the more we learn, the more complicated the world gets -- personally, I wouldn't have it any other way... but I digress.

So I'm going to say, like you, that it's a combination of two things (albeit not quite the same things you do): Physical characteristics (which can change), and the neurochemical makeup of the brain (the research of which is still in its relative infancy).

I did not "dismiss the chromosome issues." I specifically stated that they have been clearly defined as being either a biological male or female. But regardless of whatever angle you choose to distort the facts. That fact is that it has nothing to do with one's "self-identity" and everything to so with hard biological facts. But again, you ask a progressive what a woman is, they say, "I can't say. It's not my place. It's complicated because the jury is still out." Does that really sound like someone who is grounded in reality to you?

Next group to be told to ignore it will be police officers and judges.
The MSM won't have to be told. They already ignore anything conservatives try to bring to light.
I am willing to do as far as to say that after the normalization of pedophilia, Beastiality will be next on the list. Who are we to judge the Afghans for loving their goats?

Except the chromosomes clearly don't do the defining -- so what does?

But regardless of whatever angle you choose to distort the facts.

A simple misunderstanding; spare us the martyrdom. Nobody wants to hear it.

That fact is that it has nothing to do with one's "self-identity" and everything to so with hard biological facts. But again, you ask a progressive what a woman is, they say, "I can't say. I gave you a long and detailed answer, and you instead chose to retreat to the safety of a strawman. It makes little sense to claim to be "grounded in reality" when reality is clearly too complicated for your liking.

Yes...womanhood is far too complicated to describe. How do we begin to fathom the complexities of all that is female? Otherwise, as the little boy from Kindergarden Cop said, "Boys have a penis and girls have a vigina." I will just add, "at birth."

It's interesting how it's only in the past few years that people can't seem to figure out what a man or a woman is when no one else since the beginning of humanity has had any problems at all. Animals being less measurably intelligent have no problems figuring it out. It is only woke liberals that have this problem. I knew our education system had been failing for a while now but I never realized it was this bad. I can't even imagine what they are "teaching" in biology classes nowadays if the schools are producing this level of ignorance.

There is nothing complicated at all about womanhood. It just means the person has a female body and has to deal with issues such as menstruation, menopause, possible pregnancy, etc. Men have their own things related to their biology that women don't have. One simply cannot realistically separate biology from gender and have anything greater than a ridiculous caricature.

If people feel offended by being 'reduced to their biology' then they need to suck it up and get on with life because the reality is that while we inhabit these human bodies, we are biological creatures even if on a soul level there is no male or female, black or white, or Gentile or Jew, etc.

The word bigot doesn't mean much from people who are pro-racial discrimination and trying to further the interests of pedophiles.
who is doing that?

I stopped caring entirely once a hefty number of people decided that I was automatically racist for being white.
who said that?

menstruation and pregnancy are things that don't happen after menopause so what do post menapausal women turn into?

so which is it? are we biological creatures or do we have a soul?

It's not something people give enough consideration. There genuinely needs to be a sit down, or class of some kind, for acculturation.

One of the worst cases I've ever heard involved an Iraqi man in a German public pool following a young boy into the bathroom and raping him....then heading back poolside as if nothing happened.

The police promptly arrived and arrested him, and his explanation was that he was having a sexual emergency from not having sex in the last 3 weeks.

This is clearly a man who didn't realize how unacceptable his behavior was, and it was taken for granted that he would bother to try and understand the cultural differences between Iraq and Germany.

I happen to think that in regards to the debacle of our Afghan exit...we failed to protect those we promised to and have a moral obligation to accept those whom we can.

They have a moral obligation to acculturate to the US and abide by our standards and laws.

The funny thing is that I imagine a fair number of those on the right disagree with the first part....while a fair number on the left disagree with the second.

They're still women.

We're biological creatures regardless of whether or not one believes in souls.

Ah...yes. The "real progressives." Please tell me who these "real progressives" are?
One might imagine that posts would understand who they were talking about before telling others what the correct label for those people are. If they need me to identify what they're talking about, perhaps what they were saying doesn't have much basis in actual understanding of the topic.

The biology of women and men has not changed. Boys are born with a penis, girls are born with a vigina.
