I have that set and you have to be "in the mood" for him to endure the whole thing but it isn't that bad as he does have "friends" in other cartoons in that set. I'm not going to hold my breath that the movie ends up being "good" as there are way too many animated movies that just aren't done anywhere near as well as the originals the sense of humor and personality and sparkle of the original author ends up just not up to par.
Yeah a lot of the old cartoons are no longer on tv now even if you have pay tv many are no longer shown so I've been collecting some of the ones I like on the cheap.Ok - I'll take your word for it, Soph. I have really only seen the popular animated movies that are out now, like Frozen, Tangled, Ice Age, Madagascar etc. I did watch the old cartoons as a child and enjoyed them back in the day.

I like dr who but I haven't watched it but the last 5-6 years of the series missing out on the doctors from the 70s to late 2000s.Yes, I know you have a pretty awesome collection there. I have two of the three seasons of Dr Who so far - the ones starring Matt Smith. One to go...will buy it one day.

Around here it was only on the public tv station and the last 5 years there has been a delay on when the episodes were originally aired on BBC and reaired locally of 6 months or more and they played almost too late at night 1030pm so unless I record it I could end up tired on occasion and sleep through the episode. It was a staple programme showing here right through my childhood, but I wasn't really into it as a kid. I much prefer the current series.
I like the doctor before matt smith as well as him but the one before him I have the complete series and find him rather mediocre. The Doctor Who series varies at times on availability and almost never is marked down in price ending up $20 a set or more sometimes $50 a series/series when it is split into 2 sets or not plus the christmas specials are separate issues costing as much as a half series of episodes. To put it bluntly the BBC stuff often is priced higher than other stuff we have here I guess either there is less of a market or we are getting soaked or something.Yeah, being able to record stuff is great, eh? I didn't really get into the new series, either, until Matt Smith zoomed in as Dr Who. I really enjoyed his portrayal of the Dr. Having read reviews, it appears he had many fans and also many who didn't like the way he played the part at all. I just loved the energy he brought to everything he did.

I don't much care for Capaldi even though the series was entertaining he just doesn't quite have the pizazz. I don't like this new doctor much yet maybe he will work out like Matt Smith did I didn't care a lot for him at first because I like Tennant and Smith seemed to not be comfortable with the part for the first few episodes but after he got the hang of it I grew to like him as well as Tennant.Yes, it costs a lot here too. I paid over 50 dollars for each season. I have seasons 5 and 6 so far and have yet to get season 7. The fifth season has the Christmas special included. I forget if there is a special in the sixth one, but probably. One of my daughters likes David Tennant best of all. She also loves Peter Capaldi as the Dr. lol
