I do, and I've written a screenplay for it. But I'd rather not give out any details since it's not hard for people to swipe intellectual property once it's on the internet.
@YankeeGirl and
@Quieted know the story and I think they liked it... This one is a political thriller involving a conspiracy.
I'm also developing a screenplay for a science fiction/fantasy/superhero/action movie called "Gaia Theory".
On another note, I'm a MASSIVE fan of the Stargate franchise, and the studios are supposedly going to green light a reboot of the film if the sequel to Independence Day does well at the box office this summer. Personally, the film was the worst part of the franchise; the three TV-series that it inspired were far better.
That being said, if I were a producer on the Stargate reboot I would hire Ridley Scott or Christopher Nolan to direct, and Hans Zimmer to score the soundtrack.
For the cast, my first choices would be:
Joel Edgerton as Jack O'Neil
Daniel Radcliffe as Dr. Daniel Jackson
Sam Waterston as Dr. Paul Langford
Maggie Smith as Catherine Langford
Robert Patrick as General West
Jason Segel as Louis Ferretti
Édgar Ramírez as Charles Kawalski
Anthony Mackie as Brown
Sung Kang as Freeman
Sebastian Stan as Reilly
Michael Peña as Porro
Yigal Naor as Kasuf
Saïd Taghmaoui as Skaara
Gal Gadot as Shau'ri
Rodrigo Santoro as Ra
If you haven't seen the original Stargate film from 1994, the basic plot is that archaeologists discover a large ring artifact in Giza near the pyramids in 1928. Later in 1994, after years of research a disgraced Egyptologist is recruited into a top secret military program beneath Cheyenne Mountain in Colorado. He learns about the ring and determines that it's essentially a portal (it creates an artificial wormhole) to other rings just like it elsewhere in the galaxy (and even further out in the universe). He helps the scientists figure out how to 'dial' it, and then he's assigned to a military expeditionary team that goes through it. On the other side they encounter a human civilization reminiscent of ancient Egypt, tyrannically ruled by an alien parasite (with a human host) that poses as Ra, the Egyptian god of the sun.
I won't spoil anything else for the movie, but in the 90's it was a really fun movie, and I think there's a lot of potential for a remake if they hire the right people.
