I am of the personal opinion that two groups of people generally need makeup:

Actors while working of projects, and those who go undercover for various reasons (cops, spies, et cetera).

I'm just not a big fan of it on folks just going around in their day to day lives.

Not to mention people like me who need it for a medical condition.

There are people with bad skin pigmentation problems like myself who have it due to eczema or people who have been badly burnt or have a bad birth mark.

It's easy to stand there and say "don't wear it, be your natural self and don't give a care in the world to what others thing" but unless your living with a condition like this it's easier said than done.

Regardless of what others say we live in a judgemental world where those who will be understanding, nice and none judgemental are in a minority of the population I know for sure I don't like people walking around staring at me God made me perfect yes but the majority of people wont view it this way I know that but to make me feel more at ease with talking to people without strange looks it's easier for me to wear it than not to wear it.

I find that, generally, I like medium to "pretty well made up" levels of makeup on women, particularly if it is skillfully and tastefully done. I also find that little to no makeup can be attractive as well. With some women, makeup detracts from their appearance and with others it enhances it. It all depends on the woman and it depends on her skill.

Note:

Tammy Faye levels of makeup -- that just plain gives me the heebie jeebies. That's the stuff nightmares are made of.

I prefer the natural or no make up at all look

but as long as you don't end up looking like the joker I'm fine with women wearing lots of makeup

As long as it's done tastefully(as in proper application and colors that suit the individual's skintone), anything from natural to heavy is fine. Although, I feel that the heavier stuff should be saved for special occasion/dates/etc.

Just to reiterate what has already been said really, when you make yourself appear to be someone your not you risk someone falling in love with you for what you look like rather than what's on the inside. 30 years on what happens if you get an illness or disformity that affects the way you look can you be sure your partner will stick around if physical appearance is why he fell in love with you?

comeon dude makeup doesn't change your whole face

why do people even brush their hair or style it since God obviously didn't create scissors of combs

lets' not wear deodorant either since that wasn't created by God and we should just smell natural.

I think you get my point.

makeup enhances a females features and it isn't wrong to wear it. If they don't want to fine but I like makeup even heavy. A face can never be too feminine for me

I rarely leave the house without makeup on. I am more likely to now, but when i was younger i was far too insecure about my appearance to let anyone see me without makeup on. Now i look in the mirror and if i feel i don't look too horrible i'll leave without any makeup. Just depends on my mood more than anything :)

But i wear it to look natural. Unless i am wearing shimmer or lip gloss/bright lipstick, chances are you won't even know i have any on. And when i was younger men have seemed more interested when i did wear makeup, but that might have been confirmation bias. I'm not sure if i see much of a difference now; I also don't really care as much now. *shrugs*

This . I put a little on, and even when I do my entire face, it usually looks so natural that no one seems to notice .

Thats what I always wonder about these conversations. The guys who say that women tend to look better without makeup... I have to wonder if they're even aware that many women wear makeup in a natural way so its not immediately detected. They very well could be admiring the face of a woman with makeup on, but aren't even aware of it.

I can think of at least one conversation off the top of my head with someone who thought I wasn't wearing makeup, and thought I never actually wore makeup, and I had to correct her to tell her I was wearing makeup at that moment :p

Haha, well, the main reason I put on makeup, especially if I am going out, is for myself. I think its fun to put on and if someone else notices, then that is a plus. If no one notices, well, then, I already did it for myself in the first place :p:D.

Every time this comes up, someone always says "Ey, you guys don't know what a woman looks like without makeup! The 'natural look' is just minimal makeup!"

Well, I DO know. I've been very close friends with a lot of women. I've seen them with a lot, a little, and no makeup. And yeah, I noticed the difference. I noticed flaws I hadn't before. I noticed that their complexions were not perfect. And you know what? I DIDN'T CARE.

Seriously, ladies. Speaking only for myself here, but I really don't care about makeup. If you want to wear it for yourself, then go ahead. But if you're interested in a guy who loves you and not some make-believe version of you, then you had better make sure that he isn't so bothered by your flaws (which everyone has) that he wants you to cover them up before he'll say you're beautiful, and mean it.

Pretty much any man I've ever heard or spoken to prefers when women don't wear a whole lot of makeup. They prefer the natural look. My dad is always sure to let me know when he thinks I have too much on. lol But what are you supposed to do when you aren't naturally beautiful?
I agree with the majority opinion you stated. Now, there are some women that have horrible skin who definitely look better with it on, but the way I see it, every woman ought to have a man who sees her face without makeup and still finds her beautiful. A great way to help ensure that is to only wear makeup on special occasions. Give him an opportunity to see you without makeup, and if he loses interest after that, the both of you will have weeded the other out.

PS. I'm not a lipstick hater, but it looks pretty ridiculous when you can see her lipstick running on her cup of coffee/water.

I prefer more makeup to being bare faced or minimal. Frankly, I look horrible with no makeup. I don't feel beautiful unless I'm fully made up. Even then sometimes I don't like what I see in the mirror. So, what are y'all's opinions of makeup? Ladies, how do you feel with/without makeup?

There is a major difference in my eyes between a woman who uses makeup as an addition and one who relies on it. I like the women who use it as an addition.

Beauty is always subjective. One thing I learned is I can never cure the disease of female self-inflicted mirror reflection degradation syndrome(kind of obvious I made that up eh?) with the women I have dated so now I don't even try to. I just state the facts as I see it and hopefully in that moment it makes them feel amazing about themselves. I like to repeat the compliments at any given moment and yes I like it when say my girl has makeup on and when she doesn't.

It just seems odd to me that women are like the way that many are with makeup. It is one thing to add an addition, like an accent to their appearance. That is wonderful as far as I am concerned. But relying on mineral based cover up or animal fat cover up to only mask the issue, seems like a vicious cycle that the women like. If they didn't like it, they wouldn't mask it, but they would deal with it...but I am a man, so I don't get much things about female with this type of stuff, nor do I care to. All I know is, with the women I date, that means I am physically attracted to them with makeup or without, and they know how I feel about their attraction 10-fold. So I won't try to hold them back from making themselves feel beautiful because they get praises from me and then praises when they have morning face and bed hair.
